Ocasio-Cortez Just Won Another Primary She Didn't Even Enter.....

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is so popular that she is now winning races she didn't even enter. The 28-year-old New York progressive surprised the political world by upsetting Rep. Joe Crowley in the 14th congressional district's Democratic primary. Her grassroots campaign and radical agenda (which includes abolishing ICE), and her painting Crowley as the establishment candidate, apparently played well with voters.


Her message seems to have carried over into other districts. Ocasio-Cortez was declared the winner in the 15th congressional district, which she did not even enter. She scored the W after voters wrote in her name on the Reform line.


She won the contest over Bronx Rep. Jose Serrano, the New York Daily News reports, even though neither she nor Serrano were competing for the line. Of the 22 people who received write-in votes, Ocasio-Cortez's nine votes won. The city Board of Elections certified the result on Tuesday.


New York law prohibits individuals from being candidates for two different offices at the same time, so Ocasio-Cortez had to respectfully decline her win in the 15th.....snip~

As Robert Heinlein once said

Political tags - such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth - are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire.

Both Socialism and Communism are collectivist and statist belief systems. Therefore both have at their core a strong desire to control others.

The message she seems to be imparting, at least one of them, is raise taxes on working Americans so kids can go to college for free. Not the message that if a kid really wants to go to college perhaps they should get summer jobs during high school to help pay the expense and then while at college also get a part time job.

Why should the taxpayers have to foot the bill supporting someone for four years who wants to study something totally useless only to find out when they graduate that the field they received their degree in isn't hiring?

The message she imparts should scare all of us. She calls herself A Democratic Socialist. Who are we to doubt her in that regard. Each of her positions leans heavily to the left with more government controls, higher taxes and fewer freedom. As Heinlein so eloquently stated what she calls herself is irrelevant. What matters is that she wants to control people and that should scare everyone.
