Lawyer: Stormy Daniels arrested at Ohio strip club

Porn actress Stormy Daniels was arrested at an Ohio strip club and is accused of letting patrons touch her in violation of a state law, her attorney said early Thursday.
While Daniels was performing at Sirens, a strip club in Columbus, some patrons touched her in a “non-sexual” way, her lawyer, Michael Avenatti, told The Associated Press.
An Ohio law known as the Community Defense Act prohibits anyone who isn’t a family member to touch a nude or semi-nude dancer.
Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, was in police custody early Thursday morning and was expected to face a misdemeanor charge, Avenatti said.

I'm wondering if this is one of those arcane laws which are selectively enforced on certain people. Technically speaking I guess if someone shook the hand of a nude or semi-nude stripper, that would be a violation of the law.

I suspect they touched her in a sexual way. Those arcane laws are designed to prevent sexual conduct on stage. Columbus is a very conservative town. She and Sirens knew better.

This seems like a cynical arrest to me, to be frank. Daniels has reportedly performed the exact same act at hundreds at nearly 100 strip clubs and never faced prosecution until suddenly now. I agree with her lawyer: this seems like an arbitrary, politically motivated arrest that wouldn't have happened to anyone else.

And to be more frank, in my experience, being touched in very sexual ways by patrons was a routine occurrence for me regardless of the rules. To me, it seemed like what the rest of the world calls sexual harassment was my job. I was there to be exploited in those kinds of ways, involuntarily. My employer never intervened in my defense, let alone did law enforcement arrest anyone. So I just find it hard to believe that suddenly there's this great crackdown on physical contact that's both voluntary and non-sexual in nature because it takes place at a strip club. You see what I'm getting at, people? This is political bull$#@!. I would bet my life on it.

The left will try and say she was targeted etc etc, The truth is it was a sting meaning there was an operation ongoing at the club, she was witnessed being touched and was arrested. If they didnt arrest her and arrested others it would still be an issue.

It was based on a state law. I wonder how many other states have the same law.

Andrew Ginther, the Mayor of Columbus, is a Democrat. This is not political b.s. This are legal issues.

Oh come on people. We all know that any action that would normally be considered illegal is automatically legal when committed by someone who is anti Trump.

I'm pretty sure that they Democratic mayor didn't call this in.

I don't know all the details yet, but what this sounds like to me is her getting arrested for something maybe like a handshake or a high five. Would that really have happened to someone other than this specific individual? I mean how is that creating a public menace? Seriously.

The law she is charged with is about 10 years old as I recall, it was pushed through the statehouse by a group out of Cincy. When it was first enacted there were many charged under it, you don't hear about it as much anymore. CPD Vice and the County Sheriff Vice departments are in the clubs more these days than they have been in the past as there have been multiple shootings, assaults and other violence at several of the area clubs over the last couple years.
As I understand from local radio on the way to work this morning she was charged after pushing her juggs into peoples faces while she was dancing, rather than them touching her

As far as the political setup who do you think did that?
Columbus has a Democrat Mayor, and has had for at least the last 18 years, They have a City Council made up of all Democrats, and it has been for a decade or longer, The female Police Chief was appointed by a Democrat, the City Prosecutor is a Democrat, The Sheriff is a Democrat.
So who do you think set this up?
"The powers of the federal government are enumerated; it can only operate in certain cases; it has legislative powers on defined and limited objects, beyond which it cannot extend its jurisdiction." James Madison 1788
