When cops can abuse their authority, sometimes fatally so, and not receive any repercussion, that's the literal definition of a police state. Just because it's not done on a massive scale doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Cops can do whatever the hell they want with impunity, that's been shown many times over.

Cops can't do what ever they want with impunity. The notion they can is false. They are routinely disciplined in a variety of ways for abusing or misusing their authority. During my 14 years in law enforcement I saw many fired for various misdeeds. Some were convicted of crimes and sent to jail or prison. They certainly didn't immunity from being held accountable.

When you are forced out into the real world and need to start working for a living one tends to place more value on the fruits of their labor. The more success you achieve through your hard work, the more you want to be the one receiving the benefit of that success.


Most people people grow up when they are forced to leave the security of living with mom and dad. It's just that some do it more slowly than others.

All this, plus: the harder I work (longer hours, weekends, etc.), the less I’m willing to give away to freeloaders. And the more intolerant of those who really cheat the system, i.e. illegal aliens!

There have been many instances where cops abuse their authority on video and either nothing is done or they get hit with a slap on the wrist. They're almost never indicted for anything because of sympathetic and like-minded prosecutors colluding with defense attorneys. It's very obvious that they play by a very different set of rules. In every situation not caught on video, a cops word automatically holds more merit in court than a civilians. It's an absurd system

To be fair, the boomers are responsible for the failing political and education system that produced the millennial generation. Ultimately, everyone is responsible for themselves, but they played a part. It's not as if humans biologically evolved over these last couple of generations, the artificial groundwork laid for the millennials is part of the reason why they are how they are.

I already said it wasn't a large scale police state, it's not. But a small scale police state is still a police state. Cops are given impunity or at the very least, extreme leeway in their transgressions. While it's true that they're not hurting or killing people on the regular, when a situation arrives and it does happen, they don't face the appropriate consequence more often than not. And that isn't acceptable.
