Democratic Congressman Accuse Paul Ryan Of Political Stunt For Calling For Vote On THEIR ‘Abolish ICE’ Bill
    Molly Prince

Three Democratic congressmen declared on Thursday that they will vote “no” on their own legislation if House Speaker Paul Ryan puts their bill on the floor.
Reps. Mark Pocan of Wisconsin, Pramila Jayapal of Washington and Adriano Espaillat of New York introduced the Establishing a Humane Immigration Enforcement Act earlier Thursday, which would abolish ICE within one year of enactment, and also assemble a commission tasked with setting up a new immigration enforcement agency.
Hours later, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy announced he planned to bring the proposed “Abolish ICE” bill to the floor, reported The Hill.
The three congressmen promptly released a joint statement accusing Ryan of not taking their bill seriously, and as an act of protest, they will vote down their own legislation and instead use the opportunity to discuss Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, President Donald Trump’s zero-tolerance immigration policy and ICE.
Despite failing to support their own legislation, the statement concluded by saying “we look forward to the day that we have meaningful action on the issues covered by our bill.”

Who, in your opinion, are "they"?

Deferred action of arrivals means we still have open borders. I say we should close the border until congress can get their act together.

LOL the Demos are mad that Ryan set them up, so they would be down for the record. Now they withdraw their bill.

But Ryan wasn't taken their bill seriously, huh?

Here is Ryan talking about the Demo who intro'd the bill. Plus the Hispanic caucus comes out against abolishing ICE.

Hispanic Caucus comes out against legislation to abolish ICE.....

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus formally announced its opposition to legislation that would abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, known as ICE, dissolving its duties into other departments.

The Democrats-only Hispanic Caucus issued a statement late Thursday night after House Republican leadership said it plans to bring the bill to floor -- a political move to put Democrats on the record ahead of the November elections.

Many House Democrats view the vote as a trap, and many have vowed to vote against it when it reaches the floor. But the party is truly divided on the issue of immigration enforcement. The bill to abolish ICE was proposed Thursday by three progressive Democrats and six co-sponsors. It would “terminate the agency within one year” of the bill's passing into law, and set up a commission to find an alternative. Democratic leaders and moderates are opposed to the bill, even as the progressive base has spread the #abolishICE hashtag and taken up the idea in various protests.....snip~

Ryan on Abolish ICE Push: Democrats Have 'Really Jumped the Shark'.....

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan said his Democratic colleagues who’ve called to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement are "tripping over themselves" in their efforts to move even further left.

“They have really jumped the shark on the left,” he said, responding to a reporter’s question about the political ramifications of getting rid of the agency in some of his swing districts. “I think it’s [Rep. Mark] Pocan’s bill from Madison. You want to abolish the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency? This is the agency that gets gangs out of our communities, that helps prevent drugs from flowing into our schools, that rescues people from human trafficking. They want to get rid of this agency?”

Ryan called the movement to get rid of the agency, which is gaining steam on the left, “the craziest position I’ve ever seen.”

“They’re tripping over themselves to move too far to the left,” Ryan added. “They are out of the mainstream of America and that’s one of the reasons why I feel very good about this fall.”....snip~

Ryan was doing all he could not to laugh at the Demos crazy idea. Polling also shows the majority of Americans are against getting rid of ICE.

Ryan deserves kudos for setting the Demos up as mopes. Getting the 3 main Demos pushing the bill to vote no on their own bill.

What were the Democrats trying to accomplish by proposing the bill? Everyone who's not a communist hates the idea and it wouldn't pass in this Congress/administration. I would guess that it's to help fake moderates like Bill Nelson win re-election by them not voting for it, but then again, they didn't go through with voting on it.
