Someone else? The sitting Senator in Illinois you mean? The one going along with all the policies that wrought us the recession? You'll remember as you're so quick to comment.....the TARP and bank buyouts occurred during the last years of Bush's 2nd term. Much of it with Obama running for President. Bush called leaders together, Congress as much to blame as anyone, the entire government 'cleaned up the mess'.
Look to what you do there, Dr. Who, you blame Bush for the economy that Obama inherited. The reality is....when you are President, you take the blame or credit for the economy from the day you arrive until the day you leave. Obama made the mistake of believing his second term election meant people still blamed Bush a full 4 years into the Obama Presidency for economic stagnation. The midterms told a different story as did the 2016 election.
You underestimate tax cut considerations and regulation being cut so drastically. You underestimate in my opinion consumer confidence and moe importantly business confidence. Small Business especially, but the corporate tax cut as well.
Perhaps you missed a last week thread start of mine. Tax receipts by the federal government following tax cuts.....increased sharply and to record levels. In other words, prove that tax cuts don't need to be paid for. They actually increase private sector production and result in an increase in business.....thus generating taxes.
Should the economy not be showing strength, Dr. Who, it is this Member's viewpoint that many Members here, including and especially YOU....would be blaming the President for his tax cuts and regulation cuts for the poor economy. But today given economic realities show growing strength and GDP.....you refuse to give any credit where it's due. Tax receipts prove you in error here, they've clearly increased economic output in the US.

When Donald Trump said to protest “peacefully”, he meant violence.
When he told protesters to “go home”, he meant stay for an insurrection.
And when he told Brad Raffensperger to implement “whatever the correct legal remedy is”, he meant fraud.
War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength.
