The angry demonstrators at the Supreme Court didn’t know, and didn’t much care, who Trump’s nominee was. They knew they were against him, as they are against everything Trump wants to do. Perhaps they also know they are losing most of the political fights, and are on the verge of following their McGovernite predecessors into the trash bin of American political history.


If I had to predict near-term American politics, I’d forecast an anti-leftist electoral rout this fall, with a nasty period of infighting and restructuring of the Democrat Party to follow. To be sure, it’s a very volatile world and lots of unexpected things can take place, but for the moment the Dems look like big-time losers. It seems that the leftist takeovers of the media and the education system are running out of steam. I’ll not be astonished at violence in the streets over the Kavanaugh nomination, but I don’t think it will lead to mass protests of the sort that accompanied the McGovern disaster. Worst of all for the Dems and their “intellectual” fellow-travelers, their distortion of the history of the past couple of centuries has caught up with them, and they are now speaking and writing on behalf of the modern world’s biggest losers.


It’s astonishing to see so many Democratic leaders proclaim their enthusiasm for “democratic socialism,” a doctrine that has never produced a successful American political movement, any more than it has produced a durable political/economic system anywhere in the modern world.


Predictably, it failed, as most investors in the U.S. stock market will sadly tell you, or as any of the millions of refugees and migrants will testify. If the lefties looked, they could see that their doctrines—largely 19^th century doctrines at that—no longer applied to the real world. Relegated to corners of the society, they could only retain power and prestige by attacking their opponents. We call it “the politics of personal destruction,” but it is more than that. It entails the creation of an imaginary world, where their doctrines can be advanced. Orwell provided the best description in “1984”:


This stratagem is evident in the many fanciful accusation against Judge Kavanaugh, in the tireless smears of President Trump, and in the insistence of FBI official Peter Strzok that despite the considerable evidence to the contrary, he and his cohorts were not engaged in a political operation to “save the country” from a Trump presidency.


If we were serious about Russian meddling in our affairs, we’d look carefully at their manipulation of our schools, universities, media and political class.

Buoyed by the support he sees for his policies outside the Beltway and new polls showing a “rising tide” for Republicans, President Trump is growing more confident that his party will retain control of the House and Senate in the midterm elections.

“He’s pretty bullish,” said Wisconsin Rep. Sean Duffy, who traveled on Air Force One to Trump’s sold out rally in Duluth, Minn., Wednesday.

“Enthusiasm matters. And Democrats, because of the nature of this cycle, they’re enthused because he’s in the White House. But you can’t help but recognize the enthusiasm and excitement that Americans have for the president and the more he does that [host rallies], the more he’ll help turnout,” added the Republican and key Trump ally.

“A rising tide for Donald Trump could have an impact on the midterm elections,” said David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political Research Center. “Our previous polling in states like Ohio had shown that many voters are making candidate choices based on their desire for better checks and balances on the president. But if approval of Trump continues to rise, voters may not care as much about electing a Congress that will stand up to the president,” he added.

“Duluth, Minnesota is not a hotbed for conservatism, it is kind of the toughest area that he has, I think, in the upper Midwest, the Iron Range, the old school Democrat, and it was impressive to see how many people came out from Duluth, the love he was receiving, from a group of people I don’t think are used to going Republican rallies. It just shows that when you fight for people’s jobs, you fight for their future, man they will be loyal to you,” said Duffy.....snip~

Even Politico knows that Trump is polling higher in States than national averages. I don't think the Lame Streams National Polls can be trusted.

I hope and if that does happen all the GOPs that are against trump are going to have a rude awakening.

Same here but democrats are now the party of open borders so that won’t go over well.

Too early to tell yet. I don't see a Blue Tide. I think the Dems are going to have a hard sell outside the normal Blue districts. I usually don't predict House races because there are so many local issues I wouldn't know about.

I will say that if the Dems don't win control of the House and lose 5-7 seats in the Senate they are finished for a generation. They can't get SCOTUS to make laws for them now.

I've seen legitimate polls that say just the opposite. After 2016 I have my doubts about the validity of polls.
