    Antilia.

It is a beautiful private home.

It is owned by Mukesh Dhirubhai Ambani -- an Indian business magnate.

Unfortunately, "Despite significant economic progress, one quarter of the nation's population earns less than the government-specified poverty threshold of ₹32 per day (approximately US$ 0.6)".

How fair is it for a billionaire to spend a billion on luxury items in a place where hundreds of millions of people do not have enough food?

    That's India!

Their religious caste system was established millenia ago, and it's resistant to change.

It's 95% ego of course , probably more. But it highlights the tilted table which is likely worse in India than here. Anytime someone has that much money much of it was usually made of the backs of others and/or via undue influence.

That is true. What's in question is the fairness and potential need for change of the system that allowed him to accumulate such wealth. We cannot automatically assume that the super rich got where they are legally or fairly . It's not like he just worked overtime or got a second job. Isn't much of it not even defined as "earned income" ? That should be a clue. For example here the rich pay a lower rate on investment income than earned income. A direct result of the tilted table and rather backwards .

Most of Indias professionals leave the country, just look around the USA.

I was reading recently about indias MILLIONS of poor, it was horrific. The murders that go on unreported are literally every single day.

Many indians are so poor the have no indoor plumbing, young girls have to go somewhere private to relieve themselves, many are hunted there and raped and murdered. Recently 2 young girls were set on trying to relieve themselves, raped and HUNG by INDIAN POLICE. They killed them to hide the crime. Theres no medicine in some of those areas its just bad.
