Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.

    It only takes one.

A few years ago, some of Sheriff Joe's minions went out to serve a misdemeanor warrant - wearing full SWAT gear and driving an armored vehicle, naturally - and when no one at the home responded to their knocking - because there was nobody home - they fired tear gas through a second floor window, which started a fire that ultimately destroyed the home. Meanwhile, they kicked down the front door, and the family dog ran out to escape the smoke and flames. Even though the officers were watching some distance from the house, at least one of them decided to take target practice at the dog and drive it back into the house, where it burned to death.

No one was disciplined for any of that. Is anyone surprised?

Exactly. That's where a situation like this will really suck.

I have had several aggressive dog encounters over the years and a good healthy dose of OC has taken the fight out of them every time. It wears off and doesn't do any permanent damage. It causes disorientation, discomfort, makes breathing more difficult... quite often a dog will just stand there and shake when he is hit with it, but most of the time, they retreat. Most importantly, it breaks their focus.

There are few instances when a cop actually needs to shoot a dog. I won't say it is never necessary, but there are almost always other options.

There are roughly a million cops in the US. Your original statement was stupid. In fact, I bet if someone made a similar statement about...oh I don't how about blacks...you'd object.

Except, blacks didn't choose to be black.
