It would be kind of amusing to take such a month off and then return to see what had become of the place afterwards. Like how much pornography would have accumulated, for example?

When I was a moderator for like two weeks a few years back, it sucked. The reports were mostly the same two people whining endlessly, constantly demanding moderation for the crime of political disagreement. But we had to formally vote on each of their idiotic reports anyway because policy. Just being one made me the subject of constant controversy on the forums even though all I ever did with that authority was vote in agreement with the majority opinion on everything. Plus I got conned into quitting by some Russian lady (possibly a spy of some sort in retrospect) with many different accounts, one of which (a male account) had a place on the mod team. So yeah. Not a positive experience. I get it.

However, I do think I'd take that month off of PF myself because I feel that I already know what 95% of the population here really thinks of me and prefer to avoid death threats and computer hacks.

OK. So we are all in agreement that the report to Mod experiment will happen. I say lets start this at 6pm tomorrow August 6th. End date Sept 6 at 6pm. This will give the Mods the chance to clear all the nonsense that has been reported.

Polly no worries you wont see porno posted etc. Mods will be lurking we members will just be acting like adults and handling our own business. ( I know this is tough concept for the socialists out there). The no report period should not be confused with no moderation happening.


Tips for no report 30 day trial

1. If someone is obnoxious or makes you mad, ignore them. Your mom was right it works!
2. If someone sends you PM you don't like delete it. The delete button is in the upper right corner on most keyboards.
3. This is most important.PERSPECTIVE.. this is an internet forum. No one in here can hurt you. Sticks and Stones etc.....

Considering some of the mods and advisors here are the worst violators of forum rules, reporting posts is ineffective and useless.

I've been letting the Mods have time off since joining in 2014 as I have not reported a post ever. It always seems like a puss-out to anonymously tattle to a higher authority. We always waited for recess to handle our $#@! personally on the school yard.
