The remains were selected from soldiers buried in American cemeteries. Not one of the unknown soldiers fought and died as a person without a nation. Where do you come up with your nonsense?

In combat, one can be wounded in ways that leave one's body unidentifiable as an individual. But there are always clues. Soldiers wear uniforms and carry weapons that can identify the soldier as American. Further, in many cases the location where the body is found give strong clues to the origin country of the fallen dead.

In one unit I was in we had our footprints taken. Both feet. A partial foot inside a boot might be the largest remaining piece suitable for identification.
