A Broward County judge has ordered that parts of the confession made to police by Florida school shooting suspect Nikolas Cruz should be released to the public. Cruz admits in the video he had been hearing a voice or demon speaking to him for years — “Burn. Kill. Destroy,” he said the “evil” voice told him.

What was funny yesterday at the school board meeting with parents outraged as they should be. First the school board rejected metal detectors, second they have the same officer they had last year that refused to engage the shooter.

I don't necessarily believe him. He may well be trying to establish false grounds for an insanity plea to get out of jail. If this shooter were say female, black, Latino/a, or a Muslim, no one would care about his mental health state. We would be talking about this as a criminal issue, not trying to medicalize it so that the shooter appears sympathetic and forgivable.

I actually do believe him. Many times or most of the times I don't. I put this up because of the school board, next Wed is the start of school. They rejected metal detectors after this happened, rejected teachers trained to stop this, and had the nerve to put the same officer back protecting these kids. Acted like the parents were stupid being concerned and angry about their decisions.

Sadly USA does not provide Mental Health Care for people in need. That harms the victims and people who have psychosis.

USA has much higher murder rate then Sweden. Somehow Supermax Prisons are not a deterrent. Swedish Welfare State provides mental health care to all in need -- thus there are fewer insane people.
