I was on the way home and noticed police with their blue lights on taking the interstate towards Raleigh.

Raleigh, N.C. (https://www.wral.com/news-near-me/13696752/?map_asset_id=18113974) — Authorities are searching for a suspect after a Raleigh police officer was shot in the neck Wednesday night in Raleigh.
The shooting happened at about 8 p.m. on Teakwood Place near Deboy Street.
The wounded officer was taken to WakeMed in another officer's patrol car, authorities said. Following the officer's arrival, WakeMed was placed on "red diversion," meaning all non-trauma patients will be diverted to other hospitals for treatment.
Authorities were shutting down multiple roads in the area, including Interstate 440 near Western Boulevard, as they searched for the suspect responsible

Authorities said officers were also going door-to-door to search for the suspect

I remember the days that when an NOPD officer was shot, they hunted the perps down and killed them.

Listening to the scanner when I got home, he was driving a tan Jeep C, with no license plate, headed towards Franklin county, that is north of Wake county. Looks like his vehicle overturned and they have him surrounded in some shed. With helicopters flying and threw a few flash bangs and closing down roads.

I am still trying to get the name of the officer shot. I know cops in Wake County.

Another officer a female was shot not long ago in Shreveport, LA and they too have a manhunt underway.

If they threw flash bangs that likely means the tactical unit was on scene and they were storming the shed. Assuming they were assaulting the correct location, it should be over one way or another within minutes of the flash bangs going off.

You are right and they got both of them.
