View Full Version : Climategate 2?

Last week over 5,000 new e-mails, already dubbed Climategate 2, were released. Anyone still desiring to contest the assertion that only a few persons controlled the entire warmist agenda will be brought up short by this note from one warmist protesting that his opinions were not getting the hearing they deserved: “It seems that a few people have a very strong say, and no matter how much talking goes on beforehand, the big decisions are made at the eleventh hour by a select core group.” Over the years this core group, led by Phil Jones at East Anglia and Michael Mann at Penn State, became so close that even those inclined toward more honest appraisals of the state of climate science were hesitant to rock the boat. As one warm-monger states: “I am not convinced that the ‘truth’ is always worth reaching if it is at the cost of damaged personal relationships.” Silly me, how many years have I wasted believing that the very point of science was to pursue the truth in the face of all obstacles. On the basis of this evidence the scientific method must be rewritten so as to state: “Science must be as objective as possible, unless it offends your friends.” Unfortunately, from the very beginning, the core group at the heart of Climategate had no interest in “scientific truth.” As one states: “The trick may be to decide on the main message and use that to guide what’s included and what is left out.” In other words, let’s decide on a conclusion and then use only evidence that proves that point, discarding everything else. One scientist who seems to have been slightly troubled by these methods wrote: “I also think the science is being manipulated to put a political spin on it, which for all our sakes might not be too clever in the long run.” In another note to Phil Jones, this same scientist complained: “Observations do not show rising temperatures throughout the tropical troposphere unless you accept one single study and approach and discount a wealth of others. This is just downright dangerous. We need to communicate the uncertainty and be honest.”

The scientist speaks the truth. If you allow the politics to take precedent over the science then in the future more important issues may become clouded by politics. Science needs to stay out of politics and vice versa, as best as can be accomplished anyway.

When you get a chance read that whole article. It's pretty interesting.

How can there be a Climategate 2 when there was never a Climategate 1?

Furthermore you weaken any argument by using that foolish suffix that belies your intelligence.

There was a Climategate and I'm sure you're being deliberately obtuse. I doubt you live in a cave.

You weaken your own argument by...oh wait. You don't have one. Never mind.

From your own article:

"The scientific consensus that global warming is occurring as a result of human activity (http://thepoliticalforums.com/wiki/Human_impact_on_the_environment) remained unchanged at the end of the investigations.[17] (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#cite_note-16)"

yeppers here we go again..here is a question for all you warmers.
or maybe a couple for ya

1. if man is causing the increase in temp of the earth.. why are the other planets temperatures increasing?

2. do any of you know anything about a phenomonon called Photon belt that our solar system goes through approximatey every 13,000 years and we are going into it again right now?

Conley

Photon Belt sounds cool so I looked it up:

The Photon Belt (also called the Photon Band, Photon Ring, Manasic Ring, or Golden Nebula) is a pseudo-scientific (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudoscience) belief (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belief), largely linked to some parts of the New Age (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Age) Movement. It postulates that a belt or ring of photons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photon) is going to envelop the Earth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth), causing a cataclysm and/or initiating a spiritual (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirituality) transition (referred to variously as a "shift in consciousness," the "Great Shift," the "Shift of the Ages,"[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photon_belt#cite_note-shift1-0)[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photon_belt#cite_note-shift2-1)[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photon_belt#cite_note-shift3-2)[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photon_belt#cite_note-Wilcock1-3)[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photon_belt#cite_note-Wilcock2-4)the "Zero Point," or the "Ascension Point"[6] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photon_belt#cite_note-CA1-5)[7] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photon_belt#cite_note-MF1-6)[8] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photon_belt#cite_note-bad1-7)[9] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photon_belt#cite_note-CA2-8)), with the time period leading up to "the Shift" referred to as "The Quickening (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Quickening)." The concept of the Photon Belt also ties in to various phenomena including belief in extraterrestrial intelligence (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extraterrestrial_intelligence) and 2012 millenarianism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_millenarianism).

The core of the Photon Belt beliefs is that there is an immense belt of photons orbiting around the Pleiades (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pleiades_(star_cluster)). According to some New Age beliefs, Earth will pass though this belt of photons, resulting either in humanity's elevation to a higher plane of existence, the end of the world (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/End_of_the_world), or both. Authors Virginia Essene (born 1928) and Sheldon Nidle (born 1946) write that the Photon Belt represents a temporary window for spiritual transition during which time humans can reach a higher level of existence, which they term the "galactic" level.[10] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photon_belt#cite_note-Essene1994-9)

The concept of the Photon Belt was first presented in 1950 by Paul Otto Hesse (died 1958) in his work Der Jüngste Tag (The Last Day). This concept was repeated and expanded upon by Samael Aun Weor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samael_Aun_Weor) in a lecture he gave in 1977 titled "The Rings of Alcyone," and in August 1981, when an article on the topic titled "And So Tomorrow" by Shirley Kemp was published in the Australian International UFO Flying Saucer Research Magazine.[11] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photon_belt#cite_note-10)

The planets are not all heating up. That photon torpedo stuff looks like a bunch of scifi. And we know the planet earth is heating up. So there is no climategate there is only climate, and it is changing. You really think all the scientists across the world are part of a conspiracy against capitalism? You sound crazy.

Nope. I do think the science is sketchy and that uncertainty is being portrayed as anything but.

It's not just climate scientists but science in general that claims to be more certain of things than they really should be. In this modern age we act like science is never wrong, and while that might be true scientists often are and are subject to the same corruption as politicians: hubris, greed, and so on.

first of all no one said anything about a photon torpedo LOL too much star trek in your oast I would reckon,, second it is a space anomaly that is more of a doughnut shape. and third who the fuck are you to call someone crazy, that is the trouble with closed minded assholes. you never open yourself up to other possiblities, but I bet you that you are an adherent to the global warming hoax, but you have no solutions to the problem just a belief that man is causing all the earths ills.. so fuck off

What has always amazed me is how liberals can't understand how the exclusively statist remedies for what could very well be a non-issue (mad-made GW) make the entire theory suspect.

What does the Rapture have to do with the right? Furthermore, liberals reject all science that is ideologically inconvenient for them.

Here is another problem for the warmists!

The Climategate e-mails are simply breathtaking. Let me show you one more below, but please do note that I could explain this away by saying that if one believes long term warming will doom us if we do not do anything today, and that temporary cooling will forestall efforts to do something, one might reasonably take the position below.

Read the two emails in the link....

What is truly alarming is that there is a group of individuals out there who refuse to consider the fact that pollution caused by seven billion human beings could possibly be affecting our Earth's atmosphere. Those citizens are the real danger.

Absolutely. And while we run around in circles crying wolf about CO2, we are poisoning the fresh water supply and oceans with real waste- industrial, farming, and more.

Why are the warmists distracting us from real short-term issues?

Probably because there are too many colored people. That is, over population is a Third World problem. That creates an ideological conundrum for them.

U hit the nail on the head there Peter.....pollution of our Drinking Water. The Dumping of waste into the Ocean. The spraying of foods with Chemicals. Killing off bees and other species that are vital to the environment in which we live.

Why is there no focus on the means of bringing energy to the people. Nothing has changed with the power grids in this country. We have lines all over this country above ground that should not be. Yet we do so taking the easy way out. Until disaster stikes, that is.
