Well, I guess it's over for Lou. Fox really knows how to stick it to their loyal news hosts. I'm sure there are more to come. Jeannine Pirro and Maria Bartiromo as well. Fox lost their prized possession and now they are starting to can people. Go figure.

Lou Dobbs, the longtime host of the signature right-wing talk show on the Fox Business Network, was canned by the network on Friday night. "Lou Dobbs Tonight" is off the air, effective immediately, a Fox spokesperson confirmed. An interim show will take Dobbs' place at 5 and 7 p.m. Eastern starting Monday. It was a head-scratching change by Fox Business, since Dobbs was its highest-rated host, albeit on a relatively low-rated network. He often doubled his lead-in's ratings, which is a rare feat in television.

Dobbs, a veteran financial news anchor, became known at Fox Business for his sycophantic pro-Trump programs. He was one of the former president's biggest boosters on television, and Trump regularly thanked him in return. In one of Trump's first statements since leaving the White House, he effusively praised his friend, saying Dobbs "is and was great. Nobody loves America more than Lou. He had a large and loyal following that will be watching closely for his next move, and that following includes me."The pro-Trump propaganda bent juiced Dobbs' ratings. But his far-right programming choices repeatedly caused consternation within the company, a source close to the matter said, and his program was a loss leader for Fox because many advertisers didn't want to be associated with his content.

Sources at Fox indicated that the Smartmatic lawsuit (https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/04/media/smartmatic-fox-news-giuliani-powell-lawsuit/index.html) was just one factor in the decision to cancel Dobbs. His weak performance with advertisers was also a significant factor, one of the sources said.
But Fox is clearly under enormous legal pressure from Smartmatic and another voter systems firm, Dominion, which has threatened to sue the network, but has not done so to date.

So being a Trump supporter automatically makes someone a fan of Fox? You're a very lazy thinker.

Democrat challenges accuracy of voting machine count in uncalled House race.....

A Democratic candidate caught in the final uncalled House race in New York appears to be adopting a Trumpian strategy.

The legal team for Democratic Rep. Anthony Brindisi, who trails former Rep. Claudia Tenney, a Republican, by 122 votes in the 22nd Congressional District, argued in a court filing on Monday that voting machines are to blame for errors affecting hundreds (https://www.politico.com/states/new-york/albany/story/2020/12/03/new-york-house-rematch-plays-out-the-only-way-it-could-strange-and-complicated-1341046) of ballots.

“In this case, there is reason to believe that voting tabulation machines misread hundreds if not thousands of valid votes as undervotes, and that these tabulation machine errors disproportionately affected Brindisi,” Brindisi's lawyers wrote, according to the Associated Press (https://apnews.com/article/new-york-coronavirus-pandemic-elections-campaigns-claudia-tenney-0a859d2b16a187f0cbd506e7d912d500).

Brindisi’s campaign asked New York Supreme Court Justice Scott DelConte for an audit that may end up in a recount of all 325,000 ballots cast, but the judge noted last week that the court cannot call for a new election or recount. Tenney declared herself the victor this week. "Ballots have been scrutinized and we are confident all legal votes have been counted," her campaign said in a statement (https://www.uticaod.com/story/news/politics/elections/2021/02/02/ny-22-tenney-declares-victory-over-brindisi-results-not-final/4354707001/)......snip~

Fox should do like Lindell.....tell Dominion to bring it on. Make sure they bring some sort of proof for discovery. But alas, Fox News has no spine.

BREAKING: Fox News faces backlash from Trump supporters after cancelling Lou Dobbs.....

Fox News has abruptly cancelled the show of Lou Dobbs, an ardent Trump supporter. According to Yashar Ali “Dobbs will remain under contract with Fox News Media but it’s highly unlikely he will ever appear on the networks again.”

The move comes after election tech company Smartmatic filed a $2.7 billion defamation and disparagement lawsuit against Fox News. The suit named Lou Dobbs, Maria Bartiromo and Jeanine Pirro, as well as Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell.

Sebastian Gorka tweeted:
He’s a Patriot.
He speaks the Truth.
He doesn’t back down.
That’s why @FoxNews had to cance l@LouDobbs. #FOXisFinished .....snip~

If Fox can't make money off a show because the advertisers won't touch it and on top of it all, it is potentially attracting expensive lawsuits, it fails the cost benefit analysis. They are in business to make money.

Dobbs is nothing but a ultra sycophantic Trump supporter. Fox forced Dobbs to run a fact and check on air debunking the lies he was spewing regarding the voting machines and he still kept saying they can't find proof of voter fraud citing fraud was committed mentioning Nevada and Pennyslvania specifically.

After Bill Barr announced there was no proof of voter fraud Dobbs called him a liar, a fool or both. He may be compromised, unprincipled or he may be personally distraught or ill. This coming from one of the highly regarding news hosts for many years. Dobbs lost his mind with Trump. Denouncing the AG for simply stating the truth. For me, I can't stand Barr for being Trump's gopher and ass kisser. Doing anything he could for Trump even if it was wrong, however, for once he stood on his own claiming there was no proof of voter fraud. Finally he did something right.

Dobbs calling the FBI, the justice department and Barr not enforcing the law is pathetic. He was always a conservative, I most of the time disagreed with him, but this is something else. In Dobb's eyes all that mattered was Trump.

Even when Fox News corroborated the news story of Trump calling the military suckers and losers Dobbs went against his own company refuting his own colleagues story or at least parts of it.

But I'm sure Dobbs will get to host another show at some point, spewing Trump rhetoric claiming he's the best president there ever was.

Fox News has lined up six rotating hosts for its new 7 p.m. opinion program aimed at feeding the appetite of conservative viewers in the hour.

The new show called “Fox News Primetime” launches tonight with “Fox & Friends” morning show co-host Brian Kilmeade, as previously announced. The Times has learned that other names lined up to helm the program are “Sunday Morning Futures” host Maria Bartiromo and regular contributors to the network Katie Pavlich, Rachel Campos-Duffy, Mark Steyn and former congressman Trey Gowdy.

A Fox News representative confirmed the upcoming hosts.

Fox News is moving “The Story with Martha MacCallum,” which has aired in the 7 p.m. hour since 2017, to 3 p.m. to make way for an opinion show that will be a more compatible lead-in for its conservative hosts Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham. MacCallum’s program, which featured newsmaker interviews, was the time period ratings leader in 2020, but slipped to third behind CNN and MSNBC in recent weeks.

Fox News is also seeing some of its viewers sample upstart right-wing TV outlet Newsmax. While the Newsmax audience is a fraction of what Fox News draws, the network does see a pronounced audience lift at 7 p.m. Eastern for its host Greg Kelly, who remains a rabid Trump defender even after the Capitol riots.
A Fox News representative had previously stated the program changes were under discussion since the early fall and are not a response to the recent ratings trends.....snip~
