Because of glyphosate use on food crops- it limits the plants ability to absorb it from the soil.

STORY AT-A-GLANCE

Glyphosate limits plant absorption of micronutrients like manganese after application and may lead to a reduction of manganese in the food supply
Crops that are normally high in manganese, such as soybeans, leafy vegetables, coffee, tea and whole grains, are commonly sprayed with glyphosate for weed control
Your body requires a balanced amount of manganese since too much can have neurotoxic effects and insufficiency may result in neuropathologies, such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s and depression
Insufficiency may also affect bone health and reproductive function. The answer to reducing your risk is to eat certified organic foods whenever possible

Most of the foods I eat are organic, especially leafy greens. The only time I don't is when organic items are not available in local supermarkets.

I get organic when I know I am going to use it quickly. I also store some conventional in the fridge as it lasts longer.

Thank you for posting that.

Any number of micronutrients are missing for todays average diet, some due to the use of weed suppressants or killers, some from produce being harvested before maturity (full development of nutrients) and some from just generally poor diet.

Occasionally being tested for vitamin/mineral deficiencies is a very good idea. Too many people make a guess at what they are missing, and may well make matters worse.
