Russia, the current (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#) leader in space travel after the U.S. retired their shuttle missions, says that a private company Orbital Technologies (http://orbitaltechnologies.ru/) will complete (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#) a luxury hotel that will orbit 217 miles above the Earth in weightless space by 2016.

The Commercial Space Station, otherwise known as CSS, will be able to accommodate only 7 guests at a time at a cost of around $163,000 for a five day stay. Which isn't really that bad as you can spend almost as much here on Earth at the Royal Penthouse Suite at the Hotel President Wilson in Geneva, Switzerland at around $50,000 a night or the Ty Warner Penthouse at the Four Seasons in NY for about $35,000 a night. But that does not include your ride to your intergalactic paradise which will be provided at the small round trip cost of $800,000 by, most likely, RKK Energia.

The 1st space hotel will have four rooms and will be comfortable but slightly cramped. The air and water will be recycled, so get used to drinking used urine, and guests will have to get used to using "space toilets" which use no water but air to suck down the waste. Showers are going to be sealed so water doesn't escape as there will be no gravity so it would bead and float off. Dinner will be gourmetish consisting of good food but will be prepared back on Earth ahead of time and reheated in microwave type devices. The only really bad part of the dining experience or late night Earth watching will be the no alcohol rule.....snip~

800k for round trip not counting the 5 day stay. I mean if the Rich wants to go and hang up in Space and drink Piss-Water. I think I can oblige them right here on the planet. Ya just hang their Azz upside down while looking at a picture of the Earth. I think we can manage to find plenty of Piss for them to drink!

Watch the first time some rocket blows up.....I heard some guy talking about this just with space stations. he was like after maybe 50 or so flights he might consider going to work up there. Then he said.....I tend to be conservative especially if it something that can take me out without my control.

Next up flying Taxi's like the one in the 5th Element that Bruce Willis Flew. I can see it now. Intergalatic Fly-N-Float-Theaters.

No smoking, no drinking, no sex, and no cooked meals. Just a warm up of some MRE's. duck patee with Sweetpeas patee, some instant potatoes and to save the best for last. Tang! Uhm, this don't sound like no vacation to me.

Check out Virgin Airlines Space Shuttle.....:cool2:

But now this BS about Space Diving. WTF is that all about. Space diving and just in case if there is an accident? Are the rich really that retarded nowadays. Cus if they want to give some big time money for some thrill rides. I think I can help them out while making a good chunk of change too. They might want to tie a big fuckin rubberband to their feet or somethin. Couldnt pay me enough to go up and work up there. Just sayin!

The other problem is that when these extreme adventures get themselves into trouble, they have to rely on the military and government to come rescue them. I'm thinking of the Coast Guard and mountain ranger crews, S & R type stuff like that.

Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen is teaming up with aerospace pioneer Burt Rutan to build a giant machine that is part airplane and part spaceship (http://us.lrd.yahoo.com/SIG=122itp0nl/EXP=1325100146/**http%3A//www.mercurynews.com/science/ci_19538123). The new vehicle will be able to transport people and cargo into Earth's orbit and is scheduled to be commercially available by 2016.
Unlike traditional rockets, the Stratolaunch (http://us.lrd.yahoo.com/SIG=11gotc4tc/EXP=1325100146/**http%3A//www.stratolaunch.com/) will not require a launch pad for liftoff. Instead, the plane will ascend to a heightened elevation--and then the rocket portion of the craft will release and blast the ship into space.

Powered by six 747 engines, the new craft should also be far more fuel efficient than traditional shuttle launches, since it will bypass the standard supply of expensive rocket fuel needed to propel a shuttle up from the ground.

The craft will also be enormous, with a wingspan of 385 feet, (making it larger than a football field) while weighing 1.2 million pounds.....snip~

Heya Pete.....we were talking about a base on the moon. But then there are these guys and they want to put up Space Motels. The Russians say they will have one up by 2014. There is one Group that is saying they are prepared to start at the end of 2012.

Plus Branson wants his flights up and going by then as well.
