People being thirsty while voting has never been a problem until people cited it as an excuse to stop the law from being passed. Someone can easily just bring their own drinks. When America was founded is was culturally Christian, if not officially. Her law were based on Judeo-Christian tradition. It was founded on basic principles of limited government, Liberty to make your own way in life and either rise or fall on your own merits.

Today, Republicans maintain those traditional morals. In government, we still believe in limited government, maximum liberties, and more power to the localities. In society we still hold to traditional values that marriage is between a woman and a man, abortion is the taking of an innocent life, and that God granted man his freedoms, namely Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

But remember: Context is everything, and that includes the context of the time.

Everyone who came from England, despite difference like being a theist or a Puritan or whatever, were ALL raised in a 100% Christian culture and nation. They all lived and breathed Christian tradition, ethics and morals in everything they did.

Now, in England the Church of England ruled all. The King was head of the church. You rejected that church at your peril. They did not like that, so they made sure that there was not one "particular" or "official" church organization. But I very much doubt that they ever envisioned the day when generations would hate Christian values, embrace those things that Christianity deemed "evil", or be atheists, or Wiccans (witches were burned back then you know) or whatever. I'll bet you dollars to donuts that they assumed society would remain essential Christian in it morals or ethics.

Someone wrote a very important thing long ago and I can't remember who, but they basically said that a free society such as the fathers created required religion to be the ethical glue. Without that ethical glue the state steps in with its morals, enforced by laws.

Or something like that.

And thats what we see today. People left churches in droves about a generation ago, and today the state imposes its morals: Gay marriage, abortion, transgenderism . . . . and they force kids to learn their god, their religion of state.

Had not seen them before, and have not since.

The Radical Right Republicans are constantly trying to brainwash us into believing that the Democrats are actually “Radical Left Democrats” who are trying to impose socialism on us, which will eliminate many of our freedoms. Please note:

1: What the Radical Right Republicans call “socialism” is the Democratic policy to have the wealthy chip in to help average Americans. (The Radical Right Republicans ARE ok with having average Americans chip in to help the wealthy.)

2: The Radical Right Republicans want to instill a fear of “socialism” in the American people, in order to divert their attention from what they should ACTUALLY fear. That is, the loss of our democracy, where our democracy is replaced with one-party rule lead by an autocrat.

I have an honored gift some real live Army types gave me in a far off land.
The Army types that were actual war fighters like I was and found ourselves in the same $#@! that day.

It has two crossed arrows and a dagger in the center with DE OPPRESSO LIBER written in an arch at the bottom.
It has a very special place in my heart and is solemn.

They gave it to me as a gift for something i did for them that they were eternally grateful for while we were both in the $#@!. What I did got all four of them out of a bad situation.
They pinned it on my chest without the protective dodads on the back, and only let me wear a T-shirt. Each one hit it into my chest as hard as they could.
Driving in the two pins just under the shoulder on my left side so the blood flowed.
Then all five of us drank beer and vodka. Some poured a splash of vodka on the wound they gave me.

I keep that pin in a special place and went and got it out as I wrote this.
At that moment, I shared a close brotherhood with those guys.
Had not seen them before, and have not since.
Did not matter.
The sacred memory and the pin remains.


Though unauthorized on a Navy uniform, I kept it in my pocket. Now I keep it in a special place here at home.
