...except I only paid $339 for mine as it was on sale.
It is the Springfield Armory XD Defender-D9101hc.
Turns out it is the official sidearm of the Croatian Army and even has the Croatian coat of arms on the slide.
It has some pretty nice features for such an inexpensive pistol.
1. Though it is striker fired, it has a small pin protruding from the back that is easy to feel so you know it is cocked.
2. It also has a loaded chamber you can feel just above the chamber. With one hand you can feel them both, so you know there is a loaded chamber and it is cocked.
3. It has a 16 round nickle plated magazine with holes for each and every round...but only one comes with the gun. I figure that was one way they kept the price down.
So far, it feeds the 124 grain NATO ammo all day long and that is what it was designed to shoot, so that is all I will shoot in it.
I like to save my Winchester 115 grainers for my other MILSURPs like the Luger, Beretta M1951, Star BM, and P-38.
An overall nice deal for around $350.
I think pretty soon the ammo will cost more than the gun.
Thoughts ?
(PS...I usually hate those boxy, non-sexy polymer guns)
