Finally got out hiking again this morning.

Drove to the trailhead way before sunrise. No one else even there yet.

But it was bright enough with the moon still up to see where I was going.

I was testing out new equipment. New nylon pants much cooler than cotton jeans. It was very humid. And a fanny pack that seemed to need constant adjustment to where I finally slung it over my shoulder.

Lots of little side paths. They're posted, named, must be a map somewhere.

My destination today was Devils Den, just under a mile. This is part of it.

But there's more and to explore means taking those side paths. I tried climbing up but slipped and banged my knee and gave up. Besides, I needed to go down a good 100 or more feet. Oh, well, next time.

Very nice hiking scenery! That's totally my style!

And, I'm up early too. The full moon was still high in the sky this morning when I walked the youngest dog around 4 am. Very pretty.

I've learned there's nothing better than being outdoors to see the sunrise.

Here's one I snapped with my phone a couple of weeks ago. It was so much prettier in person.

Yea, I wake up for some reason at 2 am and 4 am and finally decided to make coffee and stay up at 4 am and get out by 6 am. Best part of the day.
