I, with a nephew hike about 130 miles of the App Trail about 30 years ago. From Cherokee NC to Grandfather Mountain. Seems like yesterday, we still babble about from time to time. We didn't do it all at once, just over night weekends and some 2 and 3 night weekends. Beautiful views and plenty of critters, large and small.

I hiked the AP through Shenandoah National Park back when I was in college. Hope to get back some day.

I hiked the White Mountains (AT) back in '78. Did almost 2 weeks hiking the trails in the mountains; I live about a 2 minute drive from the AT in upstate NY. See lots of hikers, especially during the summer months and every once in a while we end up bringing someone off the trail whose fallen and busted an ankle or leg.

I'd love to hike the Grand Canyon.....I'd really love to ride a mule to the bottom but, I don't think they do that anymore.

I had neighbor, when I lived in Tucson who belonged to a hiking club for seniors, that woman was more than 20 years older than me and, she hiked almost every hiking trail in Arizona.

Has anybody climbed any of the Adirondacks High Peaks? I've got two and that's not gonna change unless the bionic knees get really good. LOL
