Last night I read a book with an unusual name.

About mid way through I clicked on a link on learning languages. I was hooked. I was up until almost 2 in the morning watching the videos on how best to learn a foreign language. I decided to put effort into learning Italian so I can read Dante's Comedy in the original Italian language. Based on the videos I estimate it will take me one hour a day for a year to reach my goal.

As much as I detest it for being a Google product, I have to admit that YouTube has become a great addition to life. I'm working on getting my Golf Cart "up to speed" and I found these guys at Plum Motors. They convert the signal to AC and run AC motors. I was hoping to get 35 mph.

I like to watch the flippers as an old, retired coin antique, flipper myself. My favorites are the commonwealth picker, NC picker, Harry Tornado and I love Taco Stacks. They keep up with the newest BOLO's too. They are fun to watch, and you can always learn new things.

So, how'd it go? Are you now fluent in Italian? I love going down the learning rabbit hole. Not for something like language though, my memory isn't good enough for that, lol. I really like to learn how to make things. I have fixed, and made so many things thanks to you tubers. A few vids and you are an expert.

I stopped briefly. I will pick it back up in September.

I can read in many languages. Okay, so it's mostly menu reading........but it still counts. :roflmao:

I read Don Quixote in Spanish for a class. There were several other not well known books I also read. It's a worthwhile endeavor your are setting out on. Other than that I have experience in Italian, Spanish, French, and German........menus.

YouTube videos do come in handy. I wanted to check the engine oil level on a Jeep I'd just inherited and if you've ever seen a Jeep dipstick you know it looks nothing like any other - at least any other that I've ever encountered. After a couple of bad, unhelpful videos I found a good one. I find myself going on YouTube about every month or two, learning how to do one thing or another. Some of the people who post those kinds of "help" videos are idiots, but at least some of those are unintentionally funny.

Scenes from Breaking Bad remind me why this is not a good idea.....

Much cheaper (and less hazardous) getting it this way.
