A Las Vegas billionaire has contributed $5 million to an independent group backing Newt Gingrich, breathing new life into the former House Speaker's struggling campaign for the GOP presidential nomination and casting renewed attention on the role of such groups in the 2012 contest (http://thepoliticalforums.com/#).
A person familiar with the development said Sheldon Adelson, a casino mogul and longtime donor to Republican candidates, made the contribution Friday to Winning Our Future, a super PAC run by Gingrich allies.
Politico reported last month that Adelson was prepared to spend $20 million to help Gingrich.

No candidate has seen his fortunes affected by the emergence of super PACs more than Gingrich.

Several super PACs have already played a role in the Republican campaign. They include Make Us Great Again, a super PAC backing Texas Gov. Rick Perry; Our Destiny, supporting former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman; and the Red White and Blue Fund, which helped revive Rick Santorum's campaign in Iowa and is running ads in South Carolina.

Priorities USA Action, a super PAC backing President Barack Obama's re-election campaign, has spent modestly during the Republican nominating contest and is expected to step up its role in the general election.....snip~

I am against this Super Pacs and or any Corporations funding anyones Campaign. This guy wants to gice Gingrich 20 mil to keep him in the race. Which is bullshit. First off I am not keen on the Idea one has buy their way into an Election in the first place. Any should have the right to run once qualifications are met.

Now if you happen to be broke and people want to volunteer to for an individual there should be no problem with such. Plus now some of this money will help Gingrich's Court Costs so he can get on the ballot in Virginia. :angry8:

Technically he has no organization and why should he be given money to compete. he has already proven to the Country he is not a Leader. Who gives a shit if he as ideas. Mr Idea man......that says he has solutions. Got a solution on how Republicans can take back their party from Conservatives. Who Should just shut the fuck up and ride with a Republican platform only with their priority of and over being physically Conservative.

Now note just because the GOP does so.....doesnt mean the Demos won't pull the same shit either. Note Obama's Super Pacs! So when the he starts talking about the shit. The very first question to him about such should be can you explain why you are being a hypocrit Mr President. How are you going to talk about others when you are doing the same damn thing. Thats right Mr. President.....you just been had and :owned:.

Super PACs are a way to hide where the money comes from. It is a way to keep the big guys rolling in money. I can't understand why anyone would give money to Gingrich at this point but I guess if you have 5B it's no big deal. Still, it seems obscene.
