It's about time.

Next best idea - ban kids on certain flights. It makes sense.

That's almost enough to make me want to visit Pennsylvania ;D

Hopefully the idea catches on. Agreed about flights too, thems the worst.

I have no problem with that. Many places have advertised themselves as family friendly for a long time now. Plus, there are some places it's just intuitive. You don't bring young children.

Yeah, advertise as family unfriendly...i'd give them all the business i could

they should also have restaurants that specialize in people who can't get dates heh

I don't mind all that much. It depends where I am. If it's not an upscale place I deal with it. I would only get annoyed if it's a relatively expensive restaurant.

Restrictions should be unrestricted though.

People who drink at bars generally smoke. Can't fucking smoke anywhere anymore, why is that? If a bar wants to allow smoking and you don't smoke - go to a different bar.

It's not like we're living in fucking Afghanistan, there's a bar two doors down - go there if they don't allow smoking.

This is an awkward period of western civilization where we collectively are trying to micromanage our habits and forgetting that options and freedom should prevail.

Have a handful of flights that don't allow kids. If you're like me and don't appreciate listening to some jackhole's kid screaming throughout a 3 hour flight, you'll by a ticket on it and avoid the flights that allow kids. Same with restaurants.

It's not like we have a limited selection here.

Stupidity by complexity.

I don't disagree.

Being a mom ;D children don't bother me at all. Not much they can do to rile me up. But I think there should be restaurants that cater to people that it bothers. Same with smoking, they shouldn't ban all bars.

Most of the time I don't think I have a right to complain. People have kids. That's what keeps civilization alive. :) That said, it's only at a high end place that I would get a little pissed off about that. You're paying for a nice atmosphere.

Lol my husband would agree with you on the high end places. I admit I laugh most of the time. Pretty laid back. ;D

Here's my thing though. I have kids and I made a point to make sure they weren't getting obnoxious whenever we went out. I was (and still am) very conscious about that. Most other people aren't.

Same with dogs. Nothing pisses me off more than that asshole neighbor who keeps his dogs outside to bark all day including Sunday mornings and evenings when people are trying to relax. I respect other people, I demand that same respect.

As far as restaurants go, I'll ask for another table if there are assholes nearby. Life's too short to sit there when other people are being rude and inconsiderate. We have too much inconsideration for other people in our society.

Yeah, a lot of people just don't care. Kudos to you for being conscious of that and I agree that you have a right to expect consideration in return. Are kids more obnoxious today generally because of lax parenting? When I was a kid I was pretty well behaved in public. My siblings were too.

Well as a parent i have to thank those restaurants where they let kids eat for free(my and I had 4 kids and then I had my two and my wife son with my second marriage).....that said now that our kids our grown I look to those places where they do not open until after 4pm. Have reservations, and no kids.

The smoking issue has gotten ridiculous. Look it's okay to keep taxing them and keeping raising taxes on them. Not to mention all the health issues. But employers are now playing with the issue. Bars and casinos. I mean hey, if i am going to lose money then i should be able to do it with the least amount of stress possible. Either they need to leave the issue where others cannot play on it or just put all the cigarette manufactures out of buisness permannetly. Thus solving all those medical problems associated with smoking.

Yep when my brother and I were kids.....there was no acting up when out with mom and my Step-dad who use to be a biker and worked for General Mills and then Falstaff Brewing Company. For Falstaff Beer. lol

It all comes down, once again, to the parents and their responsibility to contain and control their little "angels". A kid sitting in a chair at the next table screaming and whining is no more intolerable than a grown-up jerk at the same table. It's not the age, so much as the lack of respect of others around them. Kids, unfortunately, need that kind of training from their parents. And many just don't get it.

a private business should be able to refuse service to anyone for any reason or none at all.....

Agreed. It doesn't matter if it's a poor decision or an immoral one. It's a decision that does not concern anyone but the owner.
