It's a pleasure to meet you.

I'm a Canadian-American living in Florida. Right now, I'm watching the Saskatchewan Roughriders pound the Hamilton Tiger Cats in the Grey Cup!

I consider myself to be a pragmatic, libertarian-leaning empiricist. I tend to agree with right-wingers ideologically more than I disagree with them, but I also tend to criticize them more than American liberals because they tend to say silly things.

Anyways, I hope this is a good place.

So, I made my monthly perusal through the forums, new and old, and saw that Dr. Grump was banned from the old watering hole. say what? I'd love to hear that story.

Good day, Toro! I hope all is well with you!

What's up with the hyphenated identity??? That's almost as bad as calling yourself an African-American or a Cuban-American.

I'm wondering why it isn't an option on the census.

Of course they are.

Comments about Canadians that are anything but glowing and complimentary must be, by definition, made in jest.

Happy Thanksgiving, my internet peeps!

So, I made butter last night. In a literal sense; from heavy cream. When they say, on the internet, that all you gotta do is put it into a mason jar and shake it, well, prepare for a lot of shaking. So, after about 20 minutes of that crap, I turned a wire coat hanger into a makeshift whisk which I could use with a power drill... much better. out of a quart of heavy cream I yielded maybe half that in butter. My wife looked at me funny when I asked if she'd like to drink some of the buttermilk after it separated from the butter. Aghast at the idea, I gave it to the dogs (who loved it and followed me around the rest of the night). After washing the butter and patting it dry, I separated into thirds and made Raspberry Honey, Cinnamon Honey and kosher salted. Sure to be a hit for dinner this evening!

Hope you all are having a great day!
