All this talk of gardening has made me want to share something else, another project of mine.
Most areas have builder salvage and surplus lots or even a Habitat for Humanity Restore. I went to a builder surplus place I found off the old Jeff Davis Highway several counties over and bought 20 windows for $100.
This is what it can look like (it's also pretty self evident from the picture how to put it together)

What I've done also is recycled pop bottles for the bottom layer and are filling them with water mixed with Knox to add extra insulation in winter that I can also easily remove come early spring.
