Arizona Sen. John McCain called for American-led airstrikes on President Bashar Assad's forces in Syria. McCain says the goal of the U.S.-led air strikes should be to establish and defend safe havens for delivering humanitarian and military aid in Syria.

McCain called for the airstrikes in a Senate floor speech on Monday afternoon.

The speech emphasized that "the United States should lead an international effort to protect key population centers in Syria, especially in the north, through airstrikes on Assad's forces.".....snip~

On the Floor of the Senate in full view of all.....Johnny Quest McCain and on the record too. Advocated for Directly involving the US in a Civil War. Was the senile McCain just huffing and puffing(as well as getting lost in thought) as putting on a show for when Netanyahu speaks before Congress today?

Oh no, YGBSM.

I have defended him in the past but he's finally come entirely off the rocker.

He actually has the audacity to bring up Libya as an example of past success.

McCain, Lieberman, Graham, have taken up the Bush view that we have a humanitarian obligation to the world. Even if we once agreed with that we should now see that it doesn't work. At least Iraq and Egypt are trending toward failure. Afghanistan is looking any better.

If we have a legitimate beef its better to lob some missiles in to make a necessary point and then head out. Clinton had it right.

Don't forget Kerry and his nation-building legislation. All backed by the 3 you mentioned. He pushed for the same thing in Libya to. Always calling for American Air Power. If the French got caught inside Syria they were probably masked. Which France won't admit to. But still are the ones filing resolutions in the UN. Then let the French go in and do such. Let it be their air-power and their country spending for all the resources.

Actually they don't really have to spend anything. As the saud and the Sunni of Qatar are willing to finance the whole endeavor.

I say we don't waste our Time, Money, or Soliders on them.....let another country handle it....or just send McCain down there and let him handle it.

Well if Clinton loved them.....then Obama must think he created them. As he has blown off 3 times more than Bilbo has. Look with Libya. They were calling him Barack Tomahawk Obama.

After thinking about it.....he also knew whatever he blew off like party poppers. He would have to replace by fiscal years end. Costings us twice the amount of money.
