Star receiver Vincent Jackson, formerly of the San Diego Chargers, has agreed to terms with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, per several sources. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the deal is for $55.55 million over five years, with $26 million guaranteed, and $26 million overall in the first two years. Actually, according to Pro Football Talk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/13/bucs-bag-vincent-jackson/), the contract number comes to $55,555,555 ... which would, of course, comprise Ocho Cincos.
The Chargers placed the franchise tag on him for the 2011 season, paying him a guaranteed $11.4 million. Had the Chargers franchised Jackson again, they would have had to play him over $13 million, and talks regarding a long-term contract between the Chargers and Jackson's people proved fruitless.....snip~
