Hello all,
A ‘Refugee’ here after being savaged by packs of U.S. liberals and my account deleted for having the audacity to attempt to criticise and debate outside the general consensus. Looking for a forum that doesn’t require tip toeing on eggshells to avoid offending liberal feeeelings, using politeness and respect of course, as befits an English gentleman.

One question if I may; are avatar characters preferred to photos, there's a lot of them. What's your opinion?

I’m a UK national, married, male, late 50’s, working in China and living in Thailand. Now, let’s gingerly test the water . . . . ?
My thanks to the support team for unblocking my isp provider and working to fix the various other glitches involved.

Welcome Refugee. We have both conservatives and liberals on this forum. That stimulates debate, which I hope you appreciate. As to avatars vs pictures, it is your choice. Many choose avatars to maintain anonymity.

Just fyi, you can use a virtual private network to get around ISP blocks

Wait until you get to know nathan before you take that position.

Welcome
I was also kicked out a political forum for being too "conservative" Considering that I believe in the right of the individual over the right of the state I didn't think that made me a conservative. Taking that position includes many issues that puts me on the side of liberals.

I just don't believe in big government or socialism. I don't believe in punishing successful people to the benefit of those not making an effort.

Welcome aboard

Thank you. I stopped believing in politicians some time ago. Previously I do believe some were sincere, but today’s millionaire crowd I look on as legalized scammers. Not one of them prevented the economic collapse, or even commented on it whilst it was happening, but all have ideas about food banks, austerity, mass unemployment and who pays for it all. The best thing any of them ever did for me was sell me a passport!

Packs of US liberals?

Most political forums in the US lean decidedly to the right.

Your 'right' is the UK center and your left is what the UK became. I've found there's a lot of support for it on forums and where it is, it's usually pretty vicious.

P.S. It's why I haven't got any friends on my friends list. :sad20:

:smiley_ROFLMAO:

P.S Cancel that, I got a friend. :hello2:

You are making generalizations that are unfair. Unfortunately, you aren't alone in that. It's the reason I post so infrequently.

If what you seek is a world that conforms to your views exclusively you may be living in a dream.

Unfairness, yes it’s a big problem. The generalizations are another matter and unfortunately the world we live in produces lots of them. Mine I usually base on experience, or a questioning mind, but I’m open to that of others?

I wish the world would conform to my views, but it doesn’t and so I rave and rant a lot about the injustice of it all. You should post more often and get it off your chest; the “dream” comes from listening to politicians and accepting it all and refusing to speak out against it. The unquestionable politics of others is the dream like state we live in and accept.

Very true, but our ideals are individual and don't always resonate with others. However "questionable" politics should always be addressed. I believe that ultimately our goals are not that different, just our means to the end.

Yes, I'll go along with that, hence the purpose of the forum - debate.

To imply that you disagree and therefore don't post is defeating the object. I don't know about the U.S., but the internet is about the only place left for Brits to have a rant without fear of being arrested.

That's truly unfortunate. Freedom of speech is fundamental.

Yep, the day you're told, "you can't say that" (UK), is the day forums will be the only place you will be able to speak and you'll be grateful for them.
