I'm homesick.

What type of fish is whitebait?

Anyway, I do like the fried food on occasion. I did enjoy the fish and chips (with peas) in London at some pub along Whitehall. Cod is one of my favorite fishes. Or as an old friend of mine says, I don't like fish then.

I've never asked. I just googled and came up with immature fish, so I suppose it could be any.

I looked too. I think it is just young fish from several different species.

The younger the better. In Italy they use the see-through whitebait and it makes for a most delicious snack.

They do that here as well. Usually with smelt.

Can't say I'm encouraged about eating anything with the word "bait" in it.

Is this another bait thread? Can we (pre)suppose so.

"Whitebait" - sounds like something Chris Rock would tell a promiscuous 15yr old white girl.

Looks tasty.

There may well be restrictions on catching immature fish or "fry" - well with the exception of the invader fish.
