We had this one guy who made and wore a rather nifty looking necklace out of perhaps a hundred of them.

OMG I gotta go find mine, that and my ammo box with the peace symbol stenciled on the side. LOL C-rations I wonder what that is like today? And remember the Pall Malls.

Thanks, Matatlese. I have one of those in my bugout bag but I never knew how to use it. I will try it today.

I've had several of these over the years. Last November, a buddy gave me a brand new stainless one. I'd rather have one of these than 3 wheel type can openers. They don't break and they never wear out.
Is that a hole punch?

The military issued them to me when I was in the Army to open cans.
When I go camping, I use a normal can opener.

I had my original issue on a keychain like Peter but I have no idea what happened to it. I opened many a can of those nasty ass C rats with it.

Naw, they are in plastic pouches that you pull the top off of, even come with a heater to make your meal warm.
