I have sent an Email to the Admin about this.....you can to. Also next time could you post up problems with the site onto the Announcements. Thats usually where they go.

Not in the Room Titled Democrats.

Also, if you give me access to post threads in the Announcements forum, I would gladly oblige.

You don't see it at the top of the Home page? The Announcement section? Should be the very First room listed at the Top. Let me know if you are not seeing this. Thanks.

I'm actually pretty good at navigating Vbulletin, thanks. Once again...a little more slowly this time:

I DON'T HAVE THE NECESSARY PRIVILEGES TO START THREADS IN THE ANNOUNCEMENT FORUM.

Oh.....I didn't know you couldn't post in there. As I saw Chris had put up thread when he was having trouble. Wonder why that is?

MMC

NP we will let the Admin know you say that you cannot post up in the announcment section. Seems most others say they can post up a new thread in that room. Don't know about Certain threads as I really haven't been in there lately.

For the record - I can make posts in existing threads there. I can't start a new thread in the Announcements section.

A subforum called 'site issues, questions and answers' in the pub might be a good place for stuff like this.

Yeah, it kind of makes sense that we wouldn't be allowed to make announcements.

I'm using Chrome and I've never had that happen.

Most people think IE is pretty crappy but a lot of people still have to use it for work. I remember MC saying he had the same problem, maybe he is on IE also.

I'm on a Mac right now but I'll try it in IE tonight and see if I can't get it to happen. I edit my posts all the time (because I don't preview and they're full of typos) so I'm sure I would have noticed it by now in Chrome.

edit: nope this is new and I can edit it no problem.

Why would a reg member need to make an announcement? Isn't that an admin. area for forum related things. We have one called forum news and I have to move ridiculous s**t from there to a different forum all the time. It really chap's admin and me too since we get things like, "Hey, I'm glad to be here, and I eat fried chicken twice a week" . Yeah, there is a reason for that. Of course some people can't quite grasp the concept I suppose.

I'll try IE 9 again here when I get back on a PC and see if I can't get it to happen. In my experience IE9 is much slower than Firefox, and Chrome is best of all these days.

I use FF and haven't had any problems with an edit. I do go places where the edit function times out and can't be used, there is not even a button for the option. I'm not having that happen here. I'm not a big fan of IE or Windows either, haven't used either since win98. Still using a controllable version of FF, 3.0......just saying, if you can't control your browser. It will control you and all these google inquiries are slowing down all aspects of web browsing.

Yeah, Firefox used to be great and I don't know what happened. It seems like they roll out a new version now every couple of weeks, and each one is slower and buggier than the last. I think they're up to 11 or so now.

ramone

You can still get good versions who have remained somewhat true. They are mostly associated with Linux but can be downloaded for windows. Ice monkey is one that is simple and to the point in previous versions. Based on FF but more adaptable in certain instances. I'll stick with my old version of FF for now. It serves me well. :)

It's the Google Analytics and the other wanna bee's that slow down browsing now days. In the beginning they were all about speeding up your browsing experience. Now if you look at the bottom left of your bar, see how many times google comes up before the page loads properly. It's ridiculous.

VB forums while more versatile in ways don't get in a big hurry to fix things if not security related. The VB underground site has hacks and mods to fix things however, and it's worth a look when something is messed up.

Noo, firefox used to be awesome, it crapped the bed a while back. Seriously Cap'n (boths of ya) use Chrome, nothing will ever be the same. If IE9 then probably not your browser. I can find vbulletin problems when IE9 was in beta, but that was almost a year ago.

IE9 means you're like using Windows 7, so should be fine.

I am having trouble editing. Also, when I attach an image, it doesn't always come out, I have to go back to edit and I have been getting a lot of double posts as a result.

I don't attach, but could explain how to post pics.

Double posts are usually caused by double clicking. Maybe the response is slow so you click again?
