I was thinking, there's been some discussion about partisan hack threads lately. I know I've ragged about them for ages and I see some others either jumping on that bandwagon or just getting tired of the hackery.

On the other hand people who want to post that stuff should be able to post it. If someone else doesn't like it, they can ignore it - or respond to it.

Either way - but would it make sense to maybe create a new forum and call it "Hack and slash" or something like that, for either starting these kinds of threads or moving them there so at least they can be corralled?

That's not a bad idea.

To the rare independent mind (that would be me), they're all partisan-hack threads, quoting some self-appointed expert whom the ruling class allows to be published.

You're not independent, Sage. You're nuts.

Set it up like "The Hole". You have to go little out of your way to find out what's going on.

Wouldn't this just be the converse of what we tried creating On the Serious Side? That was supposed to be a forum area where partisan hackery and other pure BS was to be kept out. That didn't work. I doubt this would. Why? (1) To partisan hacks and pure BSers everything looks like partisan hackery and pure BS. (2) It would again just create a lot of work for mods trying to deal with partisan hacks and pure BSers.

#1 fair point, #2 let others and the mods chime in.

People are always going to say or write something you may not like or a agree with ... rather that run away from it, try seeing other points of view from their point of view. People like what they like and just because you can't convince them to come to your side, doesn't make them a hack.

Maybe you're tactics are not up to par.

Thanks. I just remember trying to mod On the Serious Side. It became almost a game with some to see if they couldn't hack a serious thread. We eventually gave up.

if all the partisans posted on one forum, how many would be left to post on the rest of 'em?

What serious to one can be a joke to others ...

Take for example the Impeachment talk ...

There are many who are serious and those who think it's a joke ... even people in the same party.

So what do you do ... suppress one side just because you like an opinion?

I had one of those in the VIP section when I was a VIP.

I'm guessing it got banished at this point.

It was very nice.

Nukka, getting annoyed at a meme as a thread starter or back to black as a response is totally logical and not the sign of a dodge or anything of the sort.
