Woe, to any strange cats that ventured into her yard! One of my cats loved to cuddle up to Baby. She would wait until the dog was asleep & then snuggle up to her...when the dog woke up and found she was covered in cat cooties, she always acted embarrassed. critters!

cats are like diamonds...a girl can never have too many! My husband says there is a sign on the front of our house that says 'free cat buffet...everyone welcome'. I have a problem with turning the strays away...people will adopt dogs from the shelter, but cats don't get adopted as often. If they show up and stay a couple of weeks, they get a ride to the vet for surgery/shots, then back to their new home. We have about 5 living here now....including one that is feral. We have to use a live animal trap to get her to the vet because you can't get within 2 ft of her...her name is Wild Thang...naturally.

I had a rescued Bluejay, Lucky., very tame. The dog would be sleeping on her side. The cat curled up next to her belly and the bird asleep on the cats head. They would stay like that for a couple of hours. They never had any problems with each other. I would have gotten the turtle in the photo, but the cat hated the turtle. We had a mini menagerie. (a bunny too)

My feral cat, that I fed outside did get to the Bluejay and kill it a year later.

I had a cat that used to sit on the side of the tub & watch me shower. My husband, male that he is, decided it would be funny if he pushed the cat into the shower with me. He did. Yes, he was born with that short tail. He was found in a drainage ditch. I adopted him from the Alaqua Animal Refuge. I actually had to give them references. I donated $100.00 for the privilege of adopting him. That's his blankie. The dog tried to get on that blankie and he put a whupping on him! :)

In Florida I went to call my kids in about 8:30pm and in the road intersection about 75 feet from me was a Florida panther. I thought it was a big blond dog at first, but then I saw the head shape as it turned to look at me. It was about the size of the one in the video. Scared the tar out of me. I backed away slowly, and then bolted into the house and was relieved to see my kids in the house. TG the kids ran home around the back of the house. I shudder to think if they had run into that cat.

Not in my area. They stay away from humans. We live on the edge of a Forever Wild tract and have heard them occasionally from a distance. Between wild hogs & deer the panthers don't have any reason to look for food around humans. They have a lot of space that is human free. Even hunters don't go into the swamps too often because it is too difficult to move around in.

Cats are arrogant....you have to have a lot of self confidence to have cats. They don't show affection on your schedule. Dogs are always happy to see you and you can tell they are happy. Cats are more subtle.
