Do any of you Devil Dogs know any marines named Matt and Russ?

LOL

No one would know them by "Matt" and "Russ". We're a last names only world. When people use my first name I think something's wrong.

In the Corps if someone says "So, Andrew..." I know I'm about to get some shit happen to me. Just like if someone says, "Very good, devil dog" in a pleasant voice.

I only know Cthulhu 's fellow marines by their last names. Maybe a select few I may know their first names, but that's because I asked.

The marine officers are tough but they're still not grunts. Some were like Pete who started as a soldier/grunt and then went into the officer corps--those dudes are usually tough but it's generally accepted in the marine corps that senior enlisted are the shit.

Like an LT definitely outranks any sergeant in the marine corps. However there is NO LT in the world that would talk shit to a sergeant major, especially not the sergeant major of the marine corps.

I did not understand any of that. By officers I meant the guys who trained you, like Sergeant Carter on Gomer Pyle. That type of officer.

They're not officers-officers. They're senior enlisted, but yehhhh they're called "officers" as in senior NCOs or non-commissioned officers.

Not for a long time, but yeh back in the day I had this one Gunny tell me to meet him "outside" and proceeded to kick my ass all over the place. When Codename Section was 19 he thought his shit didn't stink.

When guys fight, does anyone cry? One of the fights I was in the girl started crying. I don't know if it was from pain or frustration. I saw my husband fight a couple of times, but he knocked out the one guy and the other time the two guys he was fighting didn't cry.

When my husband hit me sometimes I would go off alone and cry. Not because it hurt but because he wanted to hurt me.

The only time I cried in the marine corps was when I wanted to hit this LT because he was a boot piece of shit that I just knew was going to get us all killed and when I tried to say something he acted like a DI getting into my face and shit. That's when Gunny asked him if he could talk to him for a minute.

This is why all marines love Gunnys. They know how to handle boot louies.

A lieutenant and a boot louie (I may not spell that correctly) is a lieutenant fresh out of officer training who's got no salt.

The marine corps is a strange branch of service. You have this mix of shitbags and super motos and they're all stuck in one spot together and you never get what you need so there's always some kind of fight happening.

Plus marines love to watch fights so there is always a guy like me stirring shit (dropping dimes) to get two people to fight just because you're bored. One time I even got Wash and Code to fight by saying to Wash that Code called his sister.

Dykes are tougher than a lot of people. We have a buddy that got beaten by a dyke FM in the Dreamland geedunk. Fucking awesome. I'm surprised he didn't run off into a spray of bullets after that.

It's part of the reason I like these guys. Reminds me of why I married my husband. As far as I was concerned before I met him marines were the best. I was just lucky enough to find one .

I used to do a lot of latin dancing before I got married. In an effort to ward the latinos away I wore a fake engagement ring and claimed I was engaged to someone who was deployed. It didn't do anything for me. Totally dishonest. I am ashamed... I just wanted to do what I loved and not be pawed at.
