Have yall ever considered adding a gameroom here? Like some place where we have a list of games we can play against each other on slow days or nights? We had one at another forum and it was alot of fun....especially the trivia and pool games.

sounds interesting...I don't think I've ever played an on-line game (my gaming skills are limited to solitaire)

I play quite a few, especially on my really bad insomnia nights. I think it would be fun if they can fix it so its contained here.

That's the Hole - have fun. Can't say we don't have a man cave. You might want to sweep up the butts off the floor and throw out the empty beer cans. BTW we don't cater, so bring your own sandwiches and beer.

To you potential gamers, online games cost money, require licensing rights etc, so before you get all excited, how much are you willing to ante up for a game room?

If you bill it as a way to kick the e-cigarette habit, yeah probably.

D&D would be free and cheap since you buy the materials offline.

Free to you doesn't necessarily translate to free to a private for profit forum. Details, details. There may be games that are completely open source and won't demand money if someone might be making money from their use .....

Hey, I'm not saying no - I'm just saying that we need to think this through. If it costs the forum money, it will cost you money. If the forum can get free games, then no problem, assuming enough people are interested.

Thank you for the link. I don't believe that mod will work with our current set up (it has potential conflicts with both our vBulletin version and our installed mods), but I will see if I can find something similar.

Hi. Actually, since this discussion is going on about computers, web browsers, software, etc. I was thinking that it would be a good idea to have a separate section for computer talk. It could simply be called exactly that "Computer Talk." It's purpose would be to discuss and share information about computers and software, etc., anything computer-related.

This particular section "Technical Issues and Questions", I believe, is particularly geared towards discussion on technical issues concerning The Political Forums mainly and asking questions about it and that should be its sole purpose, imho. To bring in other conversations about non-related PF issues would crowd the intended purpose. But of course, for now this appears to be the only place under the circumstances.

But with a separate section I'm quite sure it would take off like wildfire and everyone could discuss whatever they wanted that was computer or software related with others sharing information. One could discuss web browsers, software, e-mail clients, reviews, problems and issues, computer news, etc. So, how 'bout it?

Then let's put this through to the Admin. perhaps he will bring it to fruition and then we can discuss things as I've lots to share but don't feel it's proper to do so under this particular section.

So, anyone know if the Admin. has given some serious thought to my suggestion to have a "Computer Talk" section on this forum? We need to start discussions in that direction. In the meantime, is there any objection to starting them off here?

You can always start such discussions in the Pub or even the Science Health and Technology room. If you want it to be an ongoing thread, we can "sticky" it so it doesn't get lost if there is a lag in conversation.

Unfortunately, I don't think we will be able to implement any arcade feature with our current server set up, and our funding is fairly tight as it is.

Also, for those relatively new to the forum, it is the moderators and the V.I.P. members who usually determine which features are added. They also are responsible for new forum areas; obviously there needs to be a significant demand or the forum will sit unused. This has been an issue in the past.

Thanks, Dr. Who. That will sure expedite the process and at least some discussions can ensue while deciding on my other suggestion. The Science Health and Technology room sounds good for now. And yes, please "Sticky" it so it won't become lost. I'm sure many will sure appreciate that. Thanks again!
