Move along deniers, nothing to see here for you but statistics.

Quick, turn on the radio, RushBeck will make sense of it for you, just make sure you're a good little sheep and buy your lifelock plan.

While it's been a rough winter so far for people in the north-central and northeastern U.S., both December and January were actually warmer than average across the country overall.

The U.S. is having its sixth-warmest winter on record, according to data from the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), which has records back to 1895.

For the first two weeks of February, while chilly weather enveloped the northeastern U.S. and record snow buried New England, practically the entire western half of the nation was seeing phenomenal, record warmth.

How warm? So far this month, there have been 4,074 records set for warm temperatures —- mostly in the West — and only 236 records for cold temperatures, the NCDC reported.

Records for warm temperatures have been set in Seattle, San Jose, Las Vegas, Reno, Salt Lake City and Butte, Mont.

The list of hottest years on record is dominated by years from this millennium; every year of the 21st century is one of the 15 warmest on record (14 out of 15). This is the first time since 1990 that the high temperature record was broken in the absence of any El Niño (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Ni%C3%B1o) conditions in the year, as indicated by NOAA's CPC Oceanic Niño Index (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Oceanic_Ni%C3%B1o_Index&action=edit&redlink=1). El Niño generally tends to increase global temperatures around the globe yet conditions remained neutral in during the entire year and the globe reached record warmth despite this. The previous recordholder (2010) occurred during an El Niño year. La Niña, on the other hand, usually causes years which are cooler than the short-term average. (though while the last La Niña year (2012) was relatively cool by recent standards it was still the 10th warmest year since records began). Slightly less recently, 2006 and 2009 are approximately tied for the warmest "La Niña year" between 1971 and 2014. [65] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instrumental_temperature_record#cite_note-65)
Although the NCDC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Climatic_Data_Center) temperature record begins in 1880, less certain reconstructions of earlier temperatures (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temperature_record#Proxies:_tree_rings.2C_ice_core s:_the_last_2000_years) suggest these years may be the warmest for several centuries to millennia.

We haven't seen the north side of zero in about 2 or 3 days and it was -24 this AM. If there is real global warming out there, please send some my way!

I haven't worn a jacket to work in two weeks here in Boise. Could be 60 Wednesday and Thursday. No snow in the mountains.

Ha ha........sometimes it is hard to get past my immediate surroundings. Here in northern Michigan, we just finished up the coldest February on record.

And no, I am not making any statements on global warming with that, it is what it is. I am just saying it has been COLD here this past month!!

If you had a hundred dollars in your pocket and I alarmed you saying you are missing one cent, just how bothered would you be?

These nimrods act like 1.4 degrees over 150 years is a big deal.

Chill, nothing important is going on reference climate.

if it wasn't warm, there wouldn't be enough energy and moisture for me to be gifted with 100+ inches of snow this year.

of course, bbbbbbbbbob tells us there's nothing to it, and he is a realtor, so....

Right. When we are not warming, we are cooling towards an ice age. That would really suck.
