A VIP? I think I've asked before but I never really got a serious response. Is it a title for financial contributors, long-time members, lib lib lib terrorists? What makes a VIP a VIP? Not trying to derail the thread.

It's kind of a "club" for regular, consistent members who agree to abide by a higher standard, raise forum decorum etc.

VIPs are a second level of forum leadership, below moderators. VIPs are quality posters that can be counted on to set a positive behavioral example to the general membership, and also help diffuse situations that might lead to forum-wide drama. Like moderators, they have their own section of the forum, visible only to them, wherein they vote on new VIPs and forum rules/policies.

I wasn't given general anesthesia for my colonoscopy and it didn't bother me. Watching it on the monitor was pretty cool.
