I don't thinks runners with two legs should be able to compete in the special Olympics either.

It is worrisome. Does he tire less because he has less body weight? Does he run any faster because of the springy "legs" ?

No, they should make him run on his stumps. Those who think it is unfair only do so because he is white. If he was black, there would be no question...in fact they would give him a head start.

Just to clarify my position, I'm not condemning the man. I just have no idea if it's fair or not.

insult/personal attack removed

Which part? The stump comment or the black comment?

I happen to agree with both. The guy should be able to participate in the Special Olympics but there should be no enhancement/prosthesis allowed in the regular Olympics.
As far as the black comment, you know as well as I do that in this day an age the color of a man's skin is the PRIME consideration for any event. If this man were black and denied, you would hear cries of racism. This is because of the inherent racism in those of the left and their refusal to believe that a man of color should be treated equally IN EVERY RESPECT.

If these so called enhancements made him run faster, then all those who run races that use these same springs would be just as fast as this guy and they are not. They only go as fast as the person they are attached to. It comes from the core, the arms and the hips.

I doubt it. It had to have took a lot of training just to accomplish this. Imagine all the strain on his limbs.

It's rather like double amputee Tammy Duckworth running against Joe Walsh. Only it's a different type of Olympics.

We know the real hero here too. It has to be the Republican incumbent.

Running a real race and a political one is a little different when it comes to physical ability.

There are runners who carry more body weight than other runners, so I don't think body weight could be used as an issue. I think it could be argued on either side, but the end result would be someone digging up the stats on 87 lb Kenyan who ran in 1961 or something.

His country selected him, and the Olympics (this time) went with it. The issue might very well become a precedence issue, for all other events and handicaps and/or advantages.

My side of the fence, is I admire the individual for what he is achieving, which is the spirit of the olympics, so I'm good with it.

Why have the para-Olympics? Just roll the two together.

When are they going to have a legless palmahorse athlete, or a legless athlete on the rings? No need for springs. I saw a legless college wrestler. He won a lot, no legs to grab. I wonder if he's in the Olypmics.

Does a legless person qualify as "little"? And does the NAACP allow red, brown, yellow and "little" people in that organization? Is white a color?
