The Today site won't let me place the video segment here but I'll include the link to a video segment shot in Australia that shows a tornado moving over a brush fire and sucking up the flames: http://video.today.msnbc.msn.com/today/49070758#49070758

Outstanding! Again, thanks much for the assist. Yes, it is an amazing video isn't it? It's fascinating to watch it suck up the flames and glowing cinders.

What happened then??? Did sucking it up, put the fire out??? Even the Aussie guy never seen anything like it.

I suspect that even a tornado cannot put out a large wildfire that way. It may even have ultimately increased the fire's surface range as glowing cinders were released to touch down elsewhere. But I'm just speculating here.
