I've spent a decent share of the last days getting my garden in despite the heat. I love my garden but it may well kill be someday

It's so freaking hot here. Been gardening and mowing but I had to come in to escape the heat. Maybe time for a beer.

I started planting two weeks ago. Then it rained for a week solid, followed by another week of rain every other day. I lost all of my corn and beans (seeds). I just spent yesterday re-tilling and re-planting. Tomatoes took a real pounding and I think I've lost 4.
Now it's gonna be stinkin' hot for the next week. The rest will be planted early morning and early evening.
With scant rain in the forecast, that means a light watering every evening.................
I count on my garden for food and what little remains is either donated to the food bank, or sold at the Farmer's Market in town.

I was pretty dizzy near the end. The problem is gardening chores can only be left at certain points vs. when you start feeling sick

Just a hot weekend here for us here, spring was cool and our bodies haven't seen this amount of heat since last summer

When I was younger I did everything myself, didnt matter hot or cold I just did it.
Had a garden for several years. Now I prefer to pay for people to do it for me. I earned the rest.

We've had so much rain the past three weeks the garden is swimming in weeds that I need to get rid of. Too muddy right now, though. Plants aren't growing that fast this year -- not sure why. Seem a little slow.

We're building a poured concrete fence/wall and got one half of it poured before the rains started but it's going to be another week until we can pour the other side. If we don't get any more rain.

On the up side, a couple of Canadian Geese adopted us this year and they're enjoying the pond.

I remember at Ft Drum it didn't get over 35 degrees for PT until July. PT was at 0600.

I actually thrive off physical activity, but my body, especially my joints don't seem to know that. LOL

I like sitting on the porch swing, under a ceiling fan & drinking ice tea. I do have to pace myself so I don't swing too fast.....moderation in all things!

A little vodka in that tea helps.

I grow no garden. Got burned out working a garden turning my JR High and HS days.

A farmer's market is about 15 miles away and we buy what we can.

I make a point of it. My activity level demands it. Tonight, for example, I may have to wake up and pee a couple times but if I want to run tomorrow I have to be well hydrated. It's a stupid risk to take.

Wow we've been rather dry here. My plants could use some rain soon, you can water until the cows come open but it just doesn't produce the growth spurts the natural rain does
