OCEANSIDE — The bodies of a financially distressed 56-year-old Oceanside man and his ailing 52-year-old sister were found in their home Monday afternoon in what police say appears to be a murder-suicide.
The woman’s Labrador retriever was also killed.
Oceanside police found the bodies of Robert Bradford and Shelly Bradford shortly before 4 p.m. in separate bedrooms of their house near the end of a cul-de-sac on Via Metates, just east of College Boulevard.
A gun was found in the room with Robert Bradford, police said.
Officers went to the house after receiving a call from a staff member at a medical facility, where the brother had missed several scheduled appointments, Oceanside police Lt. Leonard Mata said.
