If you could combine Romo's attitude with Custard's skills, I think you could have a winner. Custard just needs to a better attitude. I thought he would have learned after Denver but maybe he is just another Jeff George after all.

Favre kind of being a bitch:

Now that quarterback Aaron Rodgers has propelled the Packers to their fourth Super Bowl title, his onetime Green Bay counterpart, Brett Favre, wonders why it took so long.

The iconic former Packer, speaking in a radio interview on Atlanta's 790 The Zone, said he always expected his previous untested understudy to become his equal in that most meaningful head-to-head statistic: Super Bowl rings.

He just kind of fell into a good situation. On top of that, he's a good player. I don't think there's any pressure on him now, the talent around him is even better than when I was there.
” -- Brett Favre on Aaron Rodgers' path to NFL success

"I'm going to be honest, I was not surprised," Favre, who won his only Super Bowl in New Orleans in 1997, said on Tuesday in the interview, as quoted by USA Today. "The biggest surprise to me would be that he didn't do it sooner."

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7061578/brett-favre-asks-why-aaron-rodgers-super-bowl-title-ring-took-long

You know I actually really like it when athletes just say what they feel. Screw being polite, let it all hang it out! >:D

Conley

Another athlete being honest:

“It’s SO good,” Chris Cooley said of Romo’s performance during his weekly appearance on the LaVar and Dukes show. “I was watching the scoreboard in St. Louis, and I didn’t see that they’d lost really until they end, I thought they blew them out so I kind of stopped paying attention. It’s amazing, AMAZING to watch him choke like that.

“I’m just saying, I’m up 24 points in the third quarter, if I’m the head coach, I feel like I could probably just take a knee for the rest of the game, punt it away and there’s no way that Detroit’s gonna drive on you that many times,” Cooley continued. “The only way you’re gonna give up that many points is turnovers, right? It’s hilarious to watch him throw pick sixes, too, back-to-back. I loved it. But it wouldn’t be as good as my cage fight.”

This cagefighting thing refers to a previous week’s episode, and so LaVar Arrington then asked Cooley how long it would take him to beat Romo in the cage.

“For me to beat Tony? I’m gonna be honest, I don’t know what kind of cagefighting skills he has,” Cooley responded. “I would probably try to incorporate my wrestling ability, like when I was in high school. Obviously it’s been a while, but I didn’t like to beat people fast. I like to embarrass ‘em a little bit. Like, take a 24-point lead, and then just play with it a little bit.”

Vick is so stupid he can't even count to two:

""The dream team ... that word is dead now," Vick said. "Can't talk dream team anymore. Maybe it put pressure on some players, maybe it didn't, but I think just the fact that it was lingering around and people were talking about it creates a sense of pressure.

"So it's over with. We're just one of the teams that's got to scratch and claw from the bottom." (Just like one of those dogs he drowned.)

The comments Vick made Wednesday echoed those he made Tuesday to the team's official website.

"The dream team thing is over. Now we just have to forget about everything that's happened and take it one game at a time. That's what I've sensed in the locker room. I sense change. Nobody's happy about this," Vick told PhiladelphiaEagles.com.

So long Hank:

Hank Williams Jr. and his iconic theme song will not return to ESPN's "Monday Night Football," the network announced Thursday.

In the wake of Williams using an analogy involving Adolf Hitler and President Barack Obama to make a political point on the Fox News Channel, Williams' "All My Rowdy Friends" will no longer be part of the MNF opening.

"We have decided to part ways with Hank Williams, Jr," ESPN said in a statement. "We appreciate his contributions over the past years. The success of Monday Night Football has always been about the games and that will continue."

On his own website, Williams said he was the one who made the decision.

"After reading hundreds of e-mails, I have made MY decision," he wrote. "By pulling my opening Oct 3rd, You (ESPN) stepped on the Toes of The First Amendment Freedom of Speech, so therefore Me, My Song, and All My Rowdy Friends are OUT OF HERE. It's been a great run."

Terrell Owens. The guy still has skills. He's rehabbing an ACL right now but when he comes back I would sign his azz up. Good possession receiver but I guess he and Custard could butt heads. T.O. baby T.O.!

With ESPN telling Hank Williams Jr. and all his rowdy friends to go home, the Worldwide Leader needed to find someone else to intro "Monday Night Football." Their choice for the first broadcast of the MNF era, post-Hank? Barry Sanders.

He won't be singing a country music song, though. He'll be featured in some other form of video segment that previews the game. From the Detroit Free Press:....snip~

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Patriots-8217-Eric-Kettani-leaves-football-for?urn=nfl-wp8887

There are patriots, and there are Patriots. New England running back Eric Kettani(notes) has proven that by leaving the football version of the term, he's become even more the real thing. An active military member for the Navy Reserve, Kettani realized another dream this year as he made New England's practice squad.

That dream will be cut short for the time being — Kettani had requested leave for the last two weeks, according to Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald. That request has been denied, and Kettani will report to his Navy ship, the USS Klakring, in Jacksonville on Friday.

http://l.yimg.com/a/p/sp/editorial_image/b8/b8264e3dc2a8411b39bda59a2274a34d/patriots_eric_kettani_leaves_football_for_active_d uty_in_the_navy.jpg

So then why are they showing an Old Patriot Helmet? Also if he was so gung ho on being a True Patriot. Then why would he file a suit to prevent himself from going?

Chargers have a better offense and better defense, but a bad coach and now not as much talent as they used to.

Really after today I think the Raiders are the best team in the AFCW. They were the second half of last year and have been all of this year.

Lovey says this game will determine what Da Bears are about. But if ya was a real Bears Fan. U-would already know. Lovey Dovey and DeAngelo should have been fired two years ago. Da Bears are Seriously hurting in all areas as they have done nothing to solidfy the organization. Nor have they made moves to build the Bears up. No Draft picks to build on. Nor have they worked any areas of the Defense.

Tice should be fired as the bears OL Coach.....this guy keeps making excuses. Then they keep falling back on Urlacher the MLB that does not play MLB and is always dropping back or out of position to stuff the run. Not to mention the secondary is totally weak. >:(

To top it off they had the Bears wear that Code Pink shit. Really....."Lovey" this game will define the Bears yet he knows they got to wear Pink tonight. <smack> Bears Don't Wear Pink. Show some Balls and put an end to that shit. Give money to the charity not your character. >:(

Forte reminds them of the way. Then Martz wants to throw. The line cant protect Cutler. Well if you running the ball the line don't have to worry bout Cutler. Sweep left, sweep right. Off tackle. Swing pass left swing pass right. Notice all that lateral movement how it slows down that pass rush.

5 games.....all 5 Cutler comes out the second half and its 3 and out. One needs to look at Cutler closley. He rarely leads recievers with passes. Which cause recievers to get injured. He always throws behind or over the head. He always throws off balance whether the line does block for him or not. In Denver it was roll him out left to throw and roll him out right to throw. This was against teams with no serious defense.

9 false start penalties 14 in all. Thats a Coaches fault. Notice Lovey takes no control of anything. Walks around the sideline looking for a Big Mac, does absolutely nothing. lets Marinotti run the D. Who use to be the Lions Defensive Coach. The Whole time the Lions were losing. So DeAngelo takes Washed up Lovie Smith and Martz who were together at St Louis when they had they greatest show on turf. Then takes the loser lions coach. Then takes the Loser Head Coach from the Vikings. Who is then put back to doing what he was before they gave him a Head Coaching job. Which is that Offnesive line. Where he has never done anything that would mark him as a stand out.

DeAngelo wouldnt know talent if it was straing him in the face. Never has, never will. need to be ran out of football. Permanently!

Yeah, I would fire DeAngelo and Lovie. And of course take fired coaches Tice Martz and Marinelli with him Has a staff ever had more fired coaches on it? It's weird, almost like an unemployment program. It's time to blow up that team. I don't think Cutler is a great QB but he's decent, and I don't blame him for not leading guys or not being exact because he really is having to run a lot. Put Rivers behind that Oline and he'd be out for the year all ready. He would have been splattered like a blood sausage. Any nonmobile QB would be imo. Detroit has a good D line but it seems like this has been happening all year.

Yinz guys were foo foo'ing me on my Lions pick. They look like the real deal. Having a QB who can throw downfield and a WR who can catch in big league fashion sure goes a long way. Their D is pretty staunch from what I understand.

Here's the thing though, you see a lot of this in the NFL. They sucked donkey dick what - a couple years ago. Went 0-16. This might be the point where teams start treating the Lions like a competitor, really reviewing films and looking for weak spots.

I have a hunch that they will continue to play well but teams may now start taking them seriously and really game-planning for them so you might see some drop-off in their success.

Take that for what it's worth.

I agree with ya Cap. Also look how many times they gave the lions up to hard schedules. Having to play the toughest teams. It wasnt about talent. It was about Matt Millian and those Coaches. Now that they are all gone. Look at what they are doing. Nice sized cornerbacks to. Even though they are not that good at coverage.

Use to be the same way for NO and Indy.
