Some of those shark teeth are worth quite a bit dependant on the species...if those are shark teeth.

A Megalodon tooth can go for $100-$300 each.

Someone has to set this guy up on Ebay.

Megs even go for up to 1,000(on the pricey side) I am getting a small spot in a local antuiques shop(free, from a friend) to see if I get any bites.

I multi task, I drink beer and dig;) I use the pictured tool I made and stack 2 yellow cat litter buckets in the river for my office, there is a shelf for my beer, the tool requires 2 hands.174661746717468The other pics are a giant mako shark tooth and a horse tooth.

They look like some kind of shark's teeth to me.In the second pic there is a camel tooth(broken molar) as well as many fragments and a cusp of mammoth teeth. The shiny black, small roundish ones are drum teeth. I need a better camera, the good pics are from my friends phone, the blurry ones are my crumby laptop camera. You would think laptops cameras would be better.

The first pic is all sharks teeth.

They look like some kind of shark's teeth to me.That funny looking conch looking bone in the second pic is a bulia or inner ear bone from a whale. Talk about odd ball finds!

That's the one I was referring to. Are camel tooth fossils common in Florida? Then again, I wouldn't be surprised. At one time there was really only one landmass on the planet.

At one time there was really only one landmass on the planet.Fairly so also lamma and giant ground sloth whose ankle bones are the size of bowling balls, they were even bigger than mammoths, rhinos were also present. Many of the fossils are from the Pleistocene era (2 million to 10,000 years ago).

These giant creatures were here right up until the last ice age aprx. 10,000 years ago.

My collection is meager compared to this guy, he is a local plumber who scuba dives deeper holes.

Try again 17470That's more like it. If you had to put a $ value on these, I think 10,000$ is a conservative estimate. Of course it is one thing to say that, another altogether to turn them bones into greenbacks:)

Wow , that is cool. Are you sure that the owners of those teeth aren't still swiming around down there?

Found these yesterday, sitting right on top of an exposed rock bead, that has been well picked. Amazing they were missed! The first one is a small mammoth tooth (big ones can weigh 5 pounds) The second one, is likely a whale vertebrae1812818129181301813118132

Found these yesterday, it was a long walk up river, used google earth, I think I can ride a mountain bike all the way there under a powerline easement, sure would save time! First one is a bison molar, second is a partial mammoth tooth, third is maybe, an osteoderm from a giant armadillo like critter.181471814818149

Found some more today, a bison molar some mammoth tooth fragments and various shark teeth and the base of a deer antler.

So i'm in water a little over my knees and I see about a 30 pound turtle, I go say hello and go back to my hole to dig, look down right next to my leg and see a huge fish, wont lie I jumped up outta that hole.

Go up river near a spot with rocky rapids and a few houses overlooking the river, so i'm busily engrossed in digging, I look up and see a HUGE dog about 8 ft away just looking at me, it looked like a Rottweiler but with the shape of a lab, only bigger (Did I mention it was HUGE? like 100 pounds)

Well at least he is not barking or growling, I put my steel clam rake between his head and me, but is determined to sniff me, well he aint bit me yet, I drop the rake and let him smell me, nice doggy! He goes on his way upriver, as I leave he is there again, and he aint letting me pass, tried deep water, he can swim (of course)

So finally I said screw it, he will bite or he wont, I aint getting back up river to the bike around him, he just wanted to be petted (luckily!)

My digging season is coming to a close, the rains finally came and the river rose 6 inches with the one good rain we have had.

Oh well I made the most of it, an average rainy season raises the river a good ten feet. When the dry season comes again, there will be more fossils washed out of the banks and the areas hard hit this year will be replenished.
