A man with a long criminal history in a truck containing stolen law enforcement equipment led Bexar County deputies on a chase Wednesday morning, officials said.

Bexar County deputies arrested the 39-year-old after a wheel came off his pickup and he was forced to stop, said Sheriff Javier Salazar.

The chase began around 9:30 a.m. when deputies were dispatched to a home in the 13800 block of Turtle Cross for a violent disturbance, Salazar said. Deputies are frequently called to the address, often for disturbances involving weapons, he added.

Deputies began chasing the suspect. The man reportedly crashed into a sign and another vehicle with two passengers. Neither occupant of the other car was injured, Salazar said.

Shortly after the crash, a wheel came off the suspect's pickup and he was forced to stop. Deputies took the suspect into custody and detained the woman for further questioning, Salazar said.

Authorities reportedly found stolen property from a neighboring law enforcement agency in the truck, including a gun belt, radio and uniform equipment.

Salazar said the suspect, whose name has not been released, has a "substantial" criminal history and was wanted on multiple felony warrants at the time of his arrest on Wednesday. In addition to those warrants, the suspect now faces charges of possession of narcotics, possession of stolen property and intoxication assault in connection with Wednesday's crash.

It is. I heard about from a neighborhood forum where some were talking about nearly getting hit by the truck and BCSO vehicles. Apparently on did.

That might be why there's so many deputies there to stop one man.
