The Federal Aviation Administration has a received a proposal to build a 900- foot-tall Ferris wheel in the Alamo City.

According to the agency’s website, a request was made to conduct a study to build the massive structure. It was submitted in early October.

It would be the largest Ferris wheel in the world, surpassing the height of the current largest Ferris wheel located in Dubai. It's 668 feet tall and stillunder construction.

The developer of the San Antonio proposal is still unknown and the FAA hasn’t released any additional comment.

The location of the Ferris wheel would be south of the Lone Star Brewery, near Loop 410 and Mission Trail, according to FAA’s website.

City and county officials said they were not aware of any proposals made.

“The first reaction is like wow. That's taller than the tower however it's hard to say whether or not these things are real. I can tell you that you have to go through the FAA. You have to apply for what's it's called a navigation easement if you're going to go up a certain height. But whether someone is going to come in and build a 900 foot Ferris wheel, I don’t know,” explained Commissioner Kevin Wolff.
Costs are unknown. Public comment is not being taken at this time.

So while I was in Japan, Kobe, one day I went up top of Kobe Tower. Only 354' up.

Great view over the harbor and up the hills where I lied.

But while up there an earthquake hit, mild, not unusual, but the damn tower started swaying back and forth and scared the bejeezus out of me.

Ever since I cannot deal with heights.
