I'm still singing , Happy Chrismess , and , I saw three shits go sailing by .

I wonder if Rod ever saw Ella live as I did here in Royal Brighton and Hove . She never moved on stage except to stick her hand across her ear to "listen " better . She was approaching the end of her career .
Note and pitch perfect and the greatest woman jazz singer ever . Though Sarah Vaughan ran her close , imo .

Nice thread, Chris, thanks for posting it. I always played the original Auld Lang Syne by Guy Lombardo on New Year's Eve. I love old big band music. I thought it was interesting that Mr. Lombardo was actually known as "Mr. New Year's Eve" back in the 50s.

Then Dan Fogelberg came along with Same Auld Lang Syne, a really great song. Though Dan's song takes place on Christmas Eve, I like it for New Year's Eve....such a poignant song.
