I have decided to get my sons and daughters comic books, like Tomb Raider and Uncanny X men, but need more to satisfy their appetite for this! They are also rather expensive, so if someone could recommend a good variety of six comic series where they star typical and female characters, each, hen that would be nice.

I actually read the book. People through the years have been much to hard on Simon Legree.

Get them started on webcomics. That is, comics published online. Much cheaper. As in "free".

This is currently my favorite webcomic, Stand Still Stay Silent (SSSS), about post-apocalyptic Scandinavia. It's not too anime-like, which is good, because most anime annoys me.

Some of my childhood favorites were Kid Colt and The Rawhide Kid. Apparently a few years ago Marvel outed the Rawhide Kid as being gay.

I have a copy of a 1970s era Billy the Kid comic around somewhere with a price of 10 cents. My first comic book ever. I think my parents bought it for me to shut me up during a long trip.
