My daughter and her husband gave me Oculus Rift. I would not have bought it for myself.

I love it. Rift is an environment within which one plays three-dimensional games. I especially love the games like Gun Club VR. I can fire thousands of rounds down range in a realistic environment without leaving home.

I played Face Your Fears. For the first time, I experienced a fear of falling. I experienced it again playing Spiderman.

I recommend this environment to anyone interested in playing a new kind of game in a realistic three-dimensional environment.

Those are VR goggles, right?

A friend is visiting right now, and he's got a flying simulation 'game' he likes. He's a pilot and he said he likes how well it's done. I recorded some of them playing with it for YouTube, but it's boring as an outsider to watch.

After too long does it mess with your equilibrium, or make you feel dizzy or nauseous?

It depends on the game. Each game has a comfort level. Some, like Gun Club VR have no vertigo. Other like Spiderman have a fair amount.

Do they have airborne operation simulations?

Not that I have seen. But this industry is very young.

Each day there are new games and simulations. Tonight I will look at what is new and then start Gun Club VR.

I really want to buy one, but if I buy it I want the best one. If it's worth spending any money on, it's worth getting the best, in my opinion. But I can't justify dipping into my savings for this thing, especially when I have school to worry about.
