    2024 Election Poll

Polls are useless, especially this far out, but:
This is the first poll I have seen that hasn't shown Trump winning the Republican nomination by a wide margin.
This shows DeSantis with a slim 39-37% lead.

Somewhat more shocking, it shows Biden beating Trump 50-43% in a rematch,
    with DeSantis edging Biden 47-46%.

I find this encouraging, because I think Republicans need to put Trump behind them. Who wants to go backwards?

The astonishing thing is even with the rampant inflation and price of gas, 46-50% of Americans would still vote for Biden? It's unthinkable.

I find this encouraging, because I think Republicans need to put Trump behind them. Who wants to go backwards?
    Who wants to go backwards?

That was Obama's line about putting it in "D".

So who want's to go backward is people about to go over a cliff. People ready to hit a wall. People who are about to step on a landmine.

People that just walked away from a certain good thing.

I take it you are married. Are you going to move forward on her and go to the next one?

Lines that sound good don't necessarily work out. Let me leave you with one of those "Hope and Change"
    Let's go Brandon !!!

I don't recall that, but it's a lifelong philosophy of mine to go forward, not backward. Which isn't to say I always follow it.

Not married. The first one messed up, so I won't do it again. I tried it once. Great institution. Didn't work out for me, unfortunately.
Similarly, your memories of Trump may be all sunshine and happiness, but my memory is of the Democrats being happy on election day (well, the day after, anyway). I did like the two dollar gas and the lack of wars. For all the claims of Trump's incompetence, he delivered on that. Good for him, he's earned his rest. I wish he'd take it. I don't want another 78 year old president.

Here's the thing about Trump: If Republicans do start voting against him, I fully expect him to act like a child about it. That doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.

The Republican Party has been infiltrated and occupied by Democrats. The GOP will go wherever those people want it to go.

Democrats don't need to infiltrate the GOP. Besides, they have their own internal factions tearing them apart.

Republicans don't need help with shooting themselves in the foot. They do it all the time.

Too many of them are consumed with gaining the approval of the media. They think they can do that by continually abandoning conservative principles. All that does is make the media disrepect them even more. Mitt Romney can testify to that. Soon Liz Cheney will learn that lesson too.

That is the same exact message of the progressives. Change for change sake. That is why Democrats are the party of unintended consequences.
