The major problem I've seen in arguments of a religious nature is that both sides tend to end up making claims that are untrue.

I wonder about a few things found in the Christian Bible. First is the Noah worldwide animal killing flood myth. Second is the Joshua battle myth where sun and moon stand still in the sky for about a day. Third is the story, found in Revelations where Jesus claims to be the first and final letter of the Greek alphabet. In my opinion all three are fiction.
